Kevin Costner’s Band Modern West Plans to Keep Rocking This Fall Announcing New ‘Tales from Yellowstone’ Tour Dates

by Joe Rutland

Outsiders who love music and Kevin Costner in “Yellowstone” will be happy to know his band, Modern West, is planning a tour this fall.

Costner plays John Dutton on the Paramount Network’s hit drama “Yellowstone.” Ironically or not, Modern West is calling their tour “Tales from Yellowstone.”

Nice tie-in with his TV show, don’t you think?

Kevin Costner shared this news on Thursday through an Instagram post. Take a look at it below.

Now Costner has been a part of Modern West since he founded it in 2007. They have released at least eight singles under a number of different labels.

Previous and current band members, besides Costner, have included Larry Cobb, Teddy Morgan, Park Chisolm,
Luke Bulla, John Coinman, Blair Forward, Bobby Yang, and Roddy Chong.

Kevin Costner will definitely be a part of these upcoming shows in the fall.

Kevin Costner and Modern West Made Stop At Historic Gruene Hall

In August, Kevin Costner and Modern West managed to stop off at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas.

Outsiders reading this might say, “OK, so what’s the big deal?”

Gruene Hall is the oldest active dance hall in Texas. You’d be hard-pressed to not know some of the famed artists that have played there over the years.

Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, and Merle Haggard are just some of those names.

Go ahead and put Costner and his band in the mix, too. They played Gruene Hall in 2021.

He went to his Instagram Stories and shared a number of videos from that tour stop-over. Quite a moment for the famed actor and his musical career.

Anyone who showed up there would not see him dressed like John Dutton at all. No, Costner takes a little more laid-back look for his concerts.

Modern West announced their tour in August, too. Again, Costner talked about it in an Instagram video post.

“Back on the road!” Kevin Costner said. “To celebrate the #TalesFromYellowstone tour kicking off tonight in Ardmore, I thought I’d share a peek at one of the new songs we’ll be playing live.”

That’s what he did right there. “Tales From Yellowstone” is the name of the band’s new album. On it, each song represents a type of aspect from the TV show that Costner plays on right now.

His tour, which included eight cities, kicked off in Oklahoma.

As you can tell from above, the band has announced 12 additional cities for the tour. Maybe you, as an Outsider, live in one of those cities. If you go, then you’ll see Costner get up and play music with his crew.

Go have a good time and enjoy the music.
