When Will ‘1883’ Episode 2 Air on Cable TV?

by Amy Myers

Fans will get to bring in the new year by stepping back into time with the latest episode of 1883. The Yellowstone spinoff takes viewers on a cross-country journey with the Dutton ancestors, two of which are played by country icons and celebrity couple, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

As we’re beginning to find out, though, these two actors are just a small part of the grand Dutton scheme, and as time fairs on, we continuously meet important characters that shape the future of the rancher family.

So, when will we be able to divulge in the next fix of 1883?

Well, for Paramount+ fans, they’ve already seen the second episode of the series. Both episodes one and two became available on Sunday, December 19. The network’s streaming service offers episodes one week in advance from cable channels, enticing Yellowstone and 1883 fans alike to opt for the monthly subscription.

Meanwhile, cable viewers can catch the second episode of the series on December 26 at 9 p.m. ET on the Paramount Network. While we won’t be able to see the Duttons before Christmas, the new episode does at least give fans one final present to unwrap before the new year. For Paramount+ viewers, the third episode will air on the same date, but just don’t spoil it for the rest of us.

The Duttons March on to Episode 2 of ‘1883’

If you’re like us at Outsider, you haven’t stopped talking about the series premiere of 1883 since it aired on Sunday. We first meet Elsa Dutton (Isabel May), daughter to James and Margaret. The spry 19-year-old has her father’s fiery spirit and her mother’s unwavering strength. And from the moment she appears on screen, we know she does the Dutton name proud.

Also making his first appearance – and nearly his last – is Shea Brennan (Sam Elliott). Shea is in the midst of the hardest moment in his life and nearly ends it all. Thankfully, his partner was able to talk him out of the deed, thus continuing his storyline.

Then, of course, we meet the patriarch of 1883, James Dutton. Not surprisingly, James is just as much a force to be reckoned with as his descendant, John III. Alone in his wagon, James manages to fend off a crew of bandits, demonstrating his unmatchable marksmanship from his time in the Civil War.

Just as he finishes off the last of the criminals, he spots Shea and his partner, and their storylines intertwine. Before the end of the electrifying first episode of 1883, all members of the Dutton family come together and begin their journey westward.

But just how long will it take before they find their next bout of trouble?
