Why ‘Yellowstone’ Fans Are Right to Be Extremely Concerned About Lloyd

by Thad Mitchell

We are now four episodes into the new season of “Yellowstone” and watchers are growing more and more concerned about a fan favorite.

In the most recent episode of “Yellowstone,” Lloyd has finally had enough of fellow ranch hand Walker’s mouth. Walker has been dead set on rubbing his new relationship with Laramie in Lloyd’s face. Laramie spent most of the previous season with Lloyd, though he is several years her senior. When Walker offered Lloyd some food, Lloyd snapped and got the better of the fight until Rip Wheeler Shows up. To everyone’s surprise and dismay, Rip doles out a butt-kicking to Lloyd — but not to Walker. It wasn’t a pleasant scene to watch. Now, fans are wondering where Lloyd’s head is at and if he’s finally had enough of the “Yellowstone” Ranch. it is the topic of discussion in a recent Reddit thread.

“At the end of Sunday’s episode, it looked like Lloyd was possibly leaving the Yellowstone,” a Reddit user says. “He’s one of my favorites. What does everyone think?”

As you might expect, some “Yellowstone” fans are afraid that Lloyd will leave the ranch. He wears the “Yellowstone” brand, which means the only way he’ll get to leave is via the train station.

“There’s zero evidence that he’s going anywhere,’ another fan comments. “It was more about being embarrassed that he got his butt kicked.”

Just what in the world is going on with Lloyd? It is the question that pretty much every “Yellowstone” fan is asking themselves through four episodes. Lloyd, the senior member of the bunkhouse crew, has had a rough go of it so far in season four. It is making some fans of the show uneasy as Lloyd is one of the most popular characters on the show. Rip Wheeler, Lloyd’s best friend on the ranch, is giving Lloyd the business in pretty much every episode so far. Rip even selected Lloyd to be his best man in his upcoming marriage to Beth Dutton. But this season would have you think that Rip and Lloyd are mortal enemies. It just doesn’t make a lot of sense and now fans are questioning the show’s writing in season four.

It is weird to see Lloyd not acting wiser in his decision-making ability,” Reddit user comments. “He was acting crazy over what he perceived was oppression coming from Walker.”

Something is going with Lloyd this season and might be something we have yet to learn. Sure he’s ticked off about Walker stealing Laramie, but whatever his issue is — appears deeper than just losing a girl.

We’ll have to wait a bit to find out what the future holds for Lloyd and if that future includes the “Yellowstone” Ranch.
