“Yellowstone” Season 4 is right around the corner, Outsiders. Only 23 days until we find out who lives, who dies, and who’s responsible.

In the 18 or so months since the premiere of Season 3, fans have been speculating all sorts of things about the new season. Whether old characters will return, which new villains we’ll face, and how Rip and the ranchhands will exact their revenge on whoever hurt the Duttons.

Now, all the fan speculation can be supported by clips from the teasers and trailers released by Paramount. One savvy “Yellowstone” fan picked up on a moment from a new teaser that might point to a new villain in Season 4.

The fan took to Reddit to discuss the possibilities with other fans. While watching the Paramount Network, the Reddit fan noticed a tiny, minuscule detail in one of the teasers that might’ve been overlooked before.

“It’s the quick scene where Rip enters what we’ve assumed was a diner (we ARE correct about that) with a gun aimed at someone,” the fan begins. “Maybe I/we were too focused on watching Rip to notice, at the left of the frame, a man’s hand holding a rifle, pointed at the ceiling, finger NOT on the trigger. That makes me think that Rip isn’t aiming at him, but at someone beside or behind him. (With his sunglasses on it’s difficult to see exactly where he’s looking).”

Then the eagle-eyed fan dropped a big bombshell that might surprise you.

“But the biggest surprise was Sheriff Haskell sitting at a diner table to Rip’s right, next to the doorway,” they wrote. “WTF is going on there??? And how come I hadn’t noticed those things before??? Mind-blower for sure.”

What Could This Sheriff Haskell Sighting Mean for ‘Yellowstone’ Season 4?

We’ve seen Sheriff Haskell play the villain’s henchman before. In Season 2, he was bought out by the Beck brothers, after he owed them gambling debts. Eventually, John Dutton convinces Haskell to honor their friendship and help John eliminate the Becks and both of their problems.

Haskell agrees to do so, but before that, he stirs up a lot of trouble for the Duttons. He doesn’t necessarily feel great about it, but he was willing to do it for his own self-interest. We might see that self-interest in play again if this Reddit fan is right about Rip going after someone in the diner and Haskell possibly being there to defend them. But I’ve got another theory for you.

Earlier this week, the official “Yellowstone” Twitter account posted another teaser that focused on Beth and Rip. The teaser starts out with Rip telling Beth, “Every day with you is a gift.” Then it cuts to the explosion in Beth’s office, which we’re not sure she survives.

The teaser then jumps to a shot of Sheriff Haskell jumping out of a police cruiser, looking concerned. Let’s assume he’s there to deal with the aftermath of the explosion. After that, we see dark shots of Rip looking grim, with a Lloyd voiceover saying, “I’m sorry, Rip.”

The teaser ends with that shot the Reddit user talked about, of Rip in the diner with a gun. If Sheriff Haskell is there too, does that mean Rip blames him for not saving Beth in time? Could he actually be coming after the Sheriff to hold him responsible? We’ll have to wait until Nov. 7 to find out for sure, but in the meantime, check out the teaser for yourself.
