‘Yellowstone’ Creator Taylor Sheridan’s Wife Drops Behind the Scenes Pic of ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Directors Chairs

“Yellowstone” co-creator Taylor Sheridan’s wife, Nicole Sheridan, posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the “Mayor of Kingstown” set on Friday. In it, her husband’s director’s chair can be seen surrounded by foliage with a fence in the background.

“Yea Baby,” she posted.

‘Yellowstone’ Co-Creator Is Juggling Many Projects

In addition to “Yellowstone,” which he co-created and also writes (plus he directed 9 episodes of the series in 2018), Sheridan is co-creating, directing and executive producing “Mayor of Kingstown.” And he’s got several other projects in the works – “Y:1883,” a “Yellowstone” prequel that goes back in time, and “6666,” another “Yellowstone” spinoff set on a modern-day world-class ranch. He’s also developing “Land Man,” a story about the world of oil rigs and West Texas boomtowns.

All told, Sheridan has a lot of irons in the fire, which may be why some “Yellowstone” fans are expressing concern that he’s spreading himself too thin. Will he have time left over for “Yellowstone” with all these new projects? After all, we’re only in Season 4 of the series now, with Sheridan having said he could see it running until Season 6 or thereabouts.

But Sheridan insists he can write new episodes of “Yellowstone” quickly and at will. He said he has been able to manage multiple projects without letting quality suffer.

“At this point, I’m able to flip the switch. If I have to turn out an episode that they need to see tomorrow, I can do it,” Sheridan told Deadline last summer. “If I want to write one that’s going to take place next year, I’ll do that, too. I don’t need a ticking time bomb behind me.”

‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Follows a Family in a Prison Town

The series Sheridan is now directing focuses on the McLusky family, who are VIPs in Kingstown, Michigan. In their town, incarceration is the main business. And according to Deadline, the McLuskys are trying to bring justice and order to a place that has neither. They grapple with corruption, inequality and racism as they try to navigate life in the prison town.

Earlier this year, actor Jeremy Renner agreed to star in “Mayor of Kingstown” as Mike McLusky. He said in a statement that the character offered a compelling dramatic opportunity.

“I am excited to dig into the complex and rough-around-the-edges character of Mike McLusky (the Mayor of Kingstown),” Renner said. “In a world otherwise forgotten in society, Mike serves as a flawed system of checks and balances. Taylor has brought to life a layered and poignant universe that is not only incredibly intriguing but also more relevant than ever.”

From the looks of Nicole Sheridan’s Instagram post, the Sheridans are as excited as Renner is about shooting “Mayor of Kingstown.” Whether audiences will flock to it as they have to “Yellowstone” remains to be seen.
