Hit Paramount Network series “Yellowstone” is hitting the home stretch of its fourth season with just four more episodes left.

Most of the fourth season has had a rather dark tone coming off that shocking season three finale that saw the Duttons under attack. There have been some rather interesting plot developments this season and it has some fans confused. Some “Yellowstone” fans say they are having trouble distinguishing just who are the protagonists and antagonists of this story. While that may be the case for many, other fans say the “Yellowstone” hero is emerging and it might not be who you think it is. In a recent Reddit discussion, “Yellowstone” fans say it is Kayce Dutton who is pushing to the top. In fact, some fans have even suggested that Kayce is the only character they are pleased with at this point in the season.

“He has always been my favorite character,” one fan chimes. “Kayce is a killer like everyone else in this show but I love his good vibes. He seems to be a better person than the rest of the cast.”

Other “Yellowstone” fans take it a step further, claiming Kayce to be the lone character that’s not angered them through the series.

“I can’t think of anything that Kayce has done through the whole series that’s made me mad at him,” another Redditor says.

“I don’t think I have EVER been mad at Kayce,” another “Yellowstone” fan says. “I’m not sure there’s anything he could do to make me mad at him. Nothing I couldn’t forgive. He has an old, gentle soul.”

‘Yellowstone’ Fans Believe Kayce is Emerging as the Hero

It’s certainly been a season of ups and downs for Kayce as he has multiple fires burning at the same time.

He begins the season by surviving the attack on his life in the last episode of the third season. Kayce tracks down the assassins and eliminates them before being shot himself. He recovers from the incident but his family is still emotionally struggling from the fallout.

Kayce makes the difficult decision to take his wife, Monica, and son, Tate, to the Native American reservation. It is more a move to get them away from the “Yellowstone” Ranch, in order to allow them to heal. It certainly seems to be working as both Monica and Tate are in much better spirits since relocating.

In the last episode, it looks like Kayce might be looking to make the move permanent. He and Monica go out house shopping where they run into former “Yellowstone” Ranch hand Avery. After seeing them interact, Monica’s blood boils with jealousy. This will certainly be a storyline to pay attention to as the fourth season winds down.

The seventh “Yellowstone” episode of season four will arrive this Sunday.
