We are now just weeks away from the return of the hit Paramount Network series “Yellowstone” and fans are getting their last-minute theories in.

In a series full of twists and turns, a few storylines stand out through three “Yellowstone” seasons. One of the biggest shocks came just last season when Jamie Dutton discovers he was adopted by the Dutton family as an infant. The news sends Jamie down a dark path that will likely continue into the fourth season. Furthermore, Jamie seeks out and finds his biological father, Garrett Randall. His father explains that when Jamie was just a baby, he killed his drug addict mother after finding his son sucking on a crack pipe as it were a bottle. Randall tells Jamies he did what he did in order to give Jamie a chance at a normal life. Highly intelligent and capable, Jamie chooses the law and politics as his career. This often puts him at odds with his adopted father, John Dutton, the owner of Yellowstone Ranch.

A skeptical bunch, some “Yellowstone” fans are not entirely convinced that things are as they seem. A theory making the rounds on Reddit suggests that perhaps Garrett Randall is not actually Jamie’s biological father.

“Do we really know who Jamie’s dad is? Not yet,” a fan writes in a recent Reddit thread. “My theory is that Jamie’s biological father is Wade Morrow.”

‘Yellowstone’ Fans Question Jamie Dutton Lineage

Yes — it is a theory straight out of left field but it is the offseason for “Yellowstone” fans and they have to entertain themselves somehow. The Redditor goes deeper into their theory on why the now deceased Wade Morrow could be Jamie’s father.

“Jamie knows that he is adopted,” the fan continues. “Jamie sought out his real “father.” Jamie met up with Garrett Randall and learned about his parents. We also know that both Garrett Randall and Wade Morrow were previously closely associated with the Duttons. How will this be determined? My guess is that Jamie will have a legal incident or need some kind of medical treatment where DNA is involved. I’m leaning toward a medical incident such that his “father,” Garrett Randall will be discovered to not be a DNA match.”

It’s an interesting yet wild theory, to say the least. But, as we all know, the first rule of being a “Yellowstone” fan is to expect the unexpected. There are certainly bound to be more than a few twists and turns in the upcoming fourth season and fans will need to keep their eyes peeled.

The fourth and latest season of “Yellowstone” is due to arrive on November 7. Until then — keep formulating wild and entertaining theories about the new season — We’re all in this together.
