Earlier today, “Yellowstone,” the hit Paramount TV show, posted a behind the scenes video on Twitter. In this video, actors Forrie J. Smith and Hassie Harrison, among others, talk about the “super fascinating” relationship between their characters Lloyd and Laramie. As shown in a few clips, the two have a flirtatious, genuine relationship that ignores any social norms that would prevent them from being together.

As Harrison points out, there is a fairly significant gap in age between the two characters. “I don’t think Laramie sees age,” she says. Clearly, that catches Lloyd off guard at first in the early stages of their relationship on Yellowstone Ranch. Laramie first appears in Episode five of season three and started turning heads as soon as she came.

From the get-go, she had her sights set on Lloyd. “I think she definitely sees his soul,” Harrison says on her character’s relationship with Lloyd. “She kind of clocks that he’s the alpha in the room, and that’s who she wants to be saddled up to.”

The somewhat unlikely quickly became a fan favorite immediately in Yellowstone season three. This is partially due to the couple’s genuine attitude and obvious care for each other. “She’s such a strong woman,” Smith says on Laramie. “My heart got on my sleeve a little bit.”

With that said, Laramie’s character certainly owns an unpredictable nature. She is the kind of cowgirl that does whatever she wants, whenever she wants to do it. So as unexpected as her relationship with Lloyd is, she also still has the ability to surprise viewers. For instance, in the season three finale, Laramie wakes up in Walker’s bed, which obviously rubs Lloyd the wrong way.

But at the end of the day, that’s just par for the course for Laramie’s character. She is a strong independent woman who will do what her heart desires. We will have to wait to see what happens with Lloyd and Laramie’s relationship. Season Four is set to come out in the summer of 2021.
