‘Yellowstone’: How Has Monica Long Grown Through the Years?

One of the most gripping storylines on Paramount Network’s Yellowstone revolves around the relationship between Kayce Dutton and his wife Monica Long. Over the course of the first three seasons, Monica, played by actress Kelsey Asbille, has truly come into her own.

For centuries, Monica’s ancestors lived on the Northwestern plains of Montana. They eventually settled on the Broken Rock Indian Reservation. Monica grew up on a ranch with her grandfather, Felix Long, who serves as one of the Indian elders on the reservation.

She later married Kayce Dutton, the son of big cattle rancher and the State Livestock Commissioner John Dutton. Monica and Kayce share a son together named Tate.

Monica’s life changes dramatically after moving to the Dutton ranch. In regards to her career, she goes from working as a middle school teacher to being a Montana State University Professor. Furthermore, she comes to find herself fully committing to becoming part of the Dutton family, despite her reservations about them in the beginning of the series.
