Yellowstone creators tease their new spin-off show, Yellowstone: 1883 with a trailer during Super Bowl LV.

What better time to announce a new show than during the Super Bowl when an average of 100 million viewers are tuned in? Well, The Paramount Network took full advantage of Super Bowl audiences when they released the trailer for the new spin-off show, Yellowstone: 1883.

The trailer ran for only 10 seconds but provided all the hype Yellowstone fans need. The video opens with heavy snowfall across a wooden sign that has the “Y” ranch insignia and “1883” imprinted on it. Then a voice says, “I don’t care if you live or die, but should you live you tell them about me.”

According to the show description, the series follows the Dutton family “as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America.” The description says that the show is “a stark retelling of Western expansion and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land — Montana.”

As you might expect, Yellowstone fans are more than thrilled about the upcoming spinoff. Most importantly, avid watchers of the Paramount series are hoping to hear casting news.

Producers Call ‘Yellowstone’ Writer Taylor Sheridan a ‘Visionary’

During an interview about the upcoming spin-off show, President of MTV Entertainment, Chris McCarthy, praised Sheridan’s talents.

“Taylor Sheridan is a visionary creative whose work has reinvented genres and amassed fan bases around the globe. We are thrilled he calls ViacomCBS and MTV Entertainment his home,” said McCarthy. “We couldn’t be more excited to build upon our partnership with him. And expand the Yellowstone universe and showcase Taylor’s boundless talent across all of our brands and platforms.”

As for Sheridan, he says that he’s looking forward to “expanding” the Dutton family.

“I am excited to continue the story of Yellowstone and…to keep on expanding the family for the fans,” said Sheridan.

No further details have been released about the show. Regardless, we’re looking forward to watching the Dutton ancestors (and all their drama) traverse the Great Plains.
