Hold onto your hats, Yellowstone fans, Season 4, Episode 5 is called “Under a Blanket of Red” — and it is set to deliver.

Right off the bat, we’ve got to warn you of major Yellowstone spoilers ahead. Don’t read on if you haven’t watched the first 4 episodes of Season 4!

So far, Yellowstone‘s fourth season has been a mixed bag for fans. The two-episode premiere was nothing short of incredible television, to be sure. But the two episodes since have felt a bit scattered. Storylines for major characters have been sidelined while the setup for spinoffs like 6666 is paramount.

That’s all set to change with Episode 5. Here’s the official synopsis:

John and Kayce are forced to deal with some newcomers in town. Lloyd is in the doghouse with Rip, and finds purpose in teaching Carter. Jamie seeks information about his father

Yellowstone Season 4, Episode 5

Let’s begin with that last one, shall we?

‘Yellowstone’ S4, E5: Jamie Seeks Information About His Father

For this storyline, it’s worth noting that the clips of Jamie confronting Garrett Randall with a gun we’ve seen in Season 4 trailers are most likely from Episode 5.

The end of Episode 4 saw Jamie discover that his biological father is an old cellmate of the man responsible for ordering an attack on the Duttons from prison, Riggins. Jamie knows there’s going to be some sort of connection now, and it’s set to blow up the entire happy home life he’s been playing with his dear ol’ (murderer for a) dad.

Hopefully, Yellowstone will get the train rolling on revealing Randall’s true involvement so we can finally have closure over those insane Season 3 finale assassination attempts.

Lloyd is in the Doghouse with Rip, and Finds Purpose in Teaching Carter

This one we didn’t see coming, and should prove a wonderful Yellowstone storyline. It’s a straightforward reveal from the plot synopsis that tells us Carter is about to get further tough love from an honorary grandpa.

Will Carter learn how to function on the ranch underneath someone as tried & true to the lifestyle as Lloyd? Honestly, if we had to pick a mentor, It’d definitely be him over Rip. Tough love is great and all, but, well, look at Beth and what her mother did to her for proof as to why it doesn’t work on children.

John and Kayce are Forced to Deal With Newcomers to ‘Yellowstone’

And then there are the “newcomers” to Yellowstone. So far, we’ve met the majority of the new cast for Season 4. One addition we haven’t met, however, is Piper Perabo’s Portland protester, Summer Higgins.

She shows up to protest the Duttons, and as we can imagine – all hell should break loose. According to reports ahead of the episode, Higgins will be protesting cattle and livestock conditions – something that will affect the Dutton family far more directly than straightforward Montana conservation protesting.

We’ll find out how all three of these Yellowstone storylines play this Sunday, Nov. 28 only on Paramount Network.
