‘Yellowstone’ Season 4: Jefferson White Talks ‘Immersive Experience’ of Romantic 6666 Scene

“Yellowstone” is steadily approaching it’s Season 4 finale, and we’re hooked. Star Jefferson White, who plays Jimmy on the show, dished details on what it was like filming that romantic front lawn scene with Kathryn Kelly, who portrays Emily on the show.

“Yellowstone” ended the long relationship between Jimmy and Mia when Jimmy was sent off to the 6666 Ranch. At the beginning of Season 4, Mia (Eden Brolin) stands by Jimmy while he recovers from some gnarly injuries. Jimmy is bucked off the back of his horse in the Season 3 finale, and it sets the tone for the romance that blossoms for him with Mia in season 4. However, Jimmy also breaks his word to John Dutton (Kevin Costner)– which ends with Jimmy being sent away. Mia and Jimmy decide to split to Jimmy can start his new life outside of the Yellowstone ranch, leaving him heartbroken. Just a few episodes later, Jimmy meets vet tech Emily.

‘Yellowstone’ Star Jefferson White Looks Back

Emily enlists Jimmy’s help with a less-than-favorable vet task, and makes her move. Suddenly, a new romance is brewing for Jimmy. In one episode, the pair lays on a front lawn after hooking up. White opened up about the experience in a recent episode of “Stories From the Bunkhouse.” White says, “That sequence on the blanket, was like such an immersive experience, because we were actually just lying on a front lawn in West Texas you know, just in the grass. It was an incredible thing,” he explains.

The actor goes on, adding that the pair had to worry about critters during the take. He says, “It was also like the whole time I was in Texas people were telling me, ‘Hey, look out man, there’s a lot of scorpions.’ And I’d be like, ‘What’s up?’ And they would have already walked away. Then we’re just lying on the grass in the middle of night. They got snakes, they got tarantulas. You guys ever seen a tarantula? That’s a big spider!” White laughs through recalling the event.

Not So Smooth Talking Cowboy

In one part of the scene, Emily makes a cheeky comment to Jimmy. She says, “P–sy whipped is what it is.” Jimmy retorts back with a cool, “I think you’re pecker whipped.” She responds, “Pecker whipped?” White laughs looking back on the scene, saying that “At the time it seemed romantic!” White explains, “I think in that moment Jimmy sorta tried to play it cool, play a little hard to get, sort of pretend that Emily’s more into it than he is, but he has fallen head over heels. This is a completely new feeling for him. He feels like a completely new person. This whole new life is sort of opening up in front of him, and Emily is a part of that.”

We can’t wait to see what’s next in Jimmy’s whirlwind love life.
