Season four of Yellowstone will debut in June of 2021, but the real question is if Kayce Dutton and Monica will stay together or break up?

Why Kayce Dutton and Monica May Split Up

Throughout every season of Yellowstone, Kayce and Monica Dutton have butted heads on just about any topic. Mostly the issues stem from Kayce being secretive for the sake of Monica, but Monica just wants to be in the know with her husband. Sometimes she will reprimand Kayce for taking a life, but at the same time, she also has that dark side that made Kayce promise he would kill whoever stole Tate from them.

Also, Monica hates John Dutton. That will strain any relationship when you can’t get along with the inlaws. She especially hates what Kayce is around them and how he starts to act, and the trouble he finds himself in when at the ranch.

In addition, the two have split up in the past, where Monica even moved to her own place and went on a date with a different man. Regardless, our beloved Kayce has continuously won her back.

But, back to the lingering question. Are Kayce Dutton and Monica going to break up in season four?

Why They Might Stay Together

No matter what kind of fight the two find themselves in, that will always work it out.

Just look at some of Kayce and Monica’s best quotes to find out what kind of people they are.

The biggest reason they do so is that despite everything, they are genuinely good people and love each other. Not many couples can claim that. Kayce Dutton might have killed plenty of people, but he has a conscience, and he does it mostly for good reasons. Like Robin Hood, but more bad*ss. When he does go all military mode, Kayce does it for the sake of his family. He was also a SEAL, so no matter what, he is a soldier at heart and is selfless in his actions.

Another big pull for the two to not divorce is that they want to raise their child, Tate, together. Both are obsessed with him, as any parent would be, but co-parenting is pretty much out of the question unless necessary.

In addition, when Monica has her head injury, Kayce was going to move mountains to get her well again, even if that meant giving her time to get her thoughts in order. In the last few minutes of season three, Kayce Dutton is sitting in his office as the Livestock Commission. He is telling Monica about his recent proposal to run for Governor of Montana. Next thing we, or Kayce knew, masked assassins burst into his office. Kayce quickly flips his massive wooden desk, and you hear Monica scream on the other end of the phone.

Could this constant worry be too much for her, though? Or is her love for Kayce and his well being what is keeping her around?

Regardless, Monica’s grandfather said even if they get a divorce, they are linked even in the afterlife due to his Native American heritage. Not much they can really do to side-step that.

Kayce Dutton and Monica Actors Weigh in

When talking about the script, Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton, thinks Kayce and Monica have “twin souls.”

“They were meant for each other, but the weight of the world has always gotten in the middle. It’s kind of that classic Romeo and Juliet storyline.”

Grimes also teased the upcoming season, which we assume means that they will stay together but keep arguing.

“What we’ll continue to see with them is that there’s such a true love at their core, and at their core, they’re both such good spirits that they’ll always be attracted to each other.”

Kelsey Asbille, who plays Monica, agreed with Grimes.

“There is so much chaos around them, but I think they answer something in each other that makes life meaningful. I root for them. I want them to be happy.”

We also root the young, beautiful couple, although they may need to take it easy with all the bickering. Kayce Dutton and Monica #2021.
