The Season 4 finale isn’t even close to finished and Yellowstone fans are already hearing wedding bells. We expected some major character developments in the episode, but an engagement? Nice touch, Sheridan.
There aren’t too many relationships in the Yellowstone verse that aren’t either already a marriage or are just plain in shambles. So, already, if you don’t know who it is, you probably have a good idea.
But just so we’re all clear…
WARNING: Yellowstone season 4 finale spoilers below.
Now that we have that out of the way, we can talk about how Four Sixes Ranch member, Jimmy Hurdstrom, popped the question to his girlfriend, Emily. Jimmy broke the news to his comrades when he introduced Emily to the bunkhouse as his “fiancée.”
And while the two lovebirds were smitten with the idea, the Yellowstone fandom all but exploded on Twitter in response.
Of course, to understand the significance of this situation, you have to know the love triangle that currently exists with Yellowstone bachelor. Previously, Jimmy was in a long-time relationship with Mia, who just happened to be in the bunkhouse when her ex dropped the F-bomb on them.
That’s what led Jake Ream to mutter this iconic line:
The bunkhouse was fully ready for an all-out brawl between the two women for Jimmy’s heart. And sure enough, Emily and Mia were suddenly at each other’s throats. Jimmy eventually had to pull Mia away from his fiancée and out the door of the bunkhouse to stop the fight. And if you’re wondering who won the brawl, we’d say Emily got in a few more shots than her opponent.
‘Yellowstone’ Fans Debate Which Gal Is Best for Jimmy
On Twitter, fans couldn’t believe the chaos that just followed Jimmy’s happy news. One minute, he’s announcing a lifelong commitment, and the next, he’s pulling apart his ex-girlfriend and fiancée.
Not surprisingly, after the bunkhouse brawl, fans separated into two camps: Team Mia and Team Emily, and spoiler alert, not many sided with the former.
“I pick this girl over Mia!! She’s going to be a good fit for the ranch..” one Yellowstone fan said of Emily.
“He has chosen wisely!” another said, regarding Jimmy’s engagement.
“Love , Love this whole scene. Look at Emily kickin ass!” a third agreed.
And to be fair, there really is no competition between the two women. While Mia was there for Jimmy during his recovery, she was the one who called off the relationship when he went to Texas, as he so poignantly explained to Mia outside of the bunkhouse. Meanwhile, Emily picked up the pieces and proved that she was more than ready for that kind of commitment.
Sorry, Mia. Too little, too late.
