With Paramount’s big shake-up happening now, does the studio’s “future film focus” lead their most popular show – Yellowstone – toward a movie?

While Season 3 ended with the lives of all our favorite characters in question, fans haven’t had to worry about Yellowstone’s fate as a show. The modern western is Paramount’s highest performing programming ever – and is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about shows on television. What’s more – the Dutton gang will be back at it in 2021 when the highly-anticipated Season 4 arrives.

Indeed, the modern western is firing on all cylinders and shows no signs of slowing down. So what is parent studio Paramount doing to celebrate? Restructuring their entire studio plan, of course!

Outsider.com previously reported that Paramount will be switching its studio focus to “made for television films”. They’re so dedicated to this, in fact, that they’re rebranding to the Paramount Movie Network.

What’s more – the studio is “promising” to land big-name stars for these films. As Kevin Costner proves an invaluable anchor for Yellowstone, so will other A-list actors for future projects.

Where does this land Yellowstone at Paramount?

Thankfully, the show is such a hit for them in recent seasons, that Yellowstone itself is molding the studio’s entire future plans.

As a result, the show will now be a “cinematic experience.” Paramount is considering “possibly programming two episodes in a single night with limited commercial interruptions“, according to Variety.

Now, Express has found another quote from Variety outlining their plans for Yellowstone:

“Once per quarter, the network expects to program a miniseries or scripted series on the scale of its hit drama Yellowstone, potentially spinning off characters from those projects into their own films or sequels in the future.”

While this all sounds like it needs to happen now – there has been no official confirmation of a film from Paramount. A Yellowstone movie, however, seems inevitable at this point. And we, for one, cannot wait to watch it.
