Do you know that old adage about you cannot please all the people all the time? Yep, it’s true for Yellowstone and its Season 4 season finale.

(Warning: Spoilers are up ahead for those who have not seen the finale.)

Yes, we all saw Jamie Dutton, played by Wes Bentley, kill his birth father Garrett, played by Will Poston. Also, we saw Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, get married quickly to Rip Wheeler, played by Cole Hauser. Plus, Summer Higgins, played by Piper Perabo, gets a long prison sentence.

This was not good enough for some Yellowstone fans. A thread from Reddit gives us the tale of woe.

‘Yellowstone’ Fans Are A Bit Hung Up On Kayce Dutton Storyline

They are bringing up a storyline involving Kayce Dutton, played by Luke Grimes. He went into an altered state of consciousness in a vision quest, plus had other parts of life that seemed to take him out of the main Dutton storylines.

One fan writes, “Wow, so they really had Kayce just separated for pretty much the whole season.” That’s followed up with, “My favorite character, but his storyline this season has probably been the weakest.”

We have this Yellowstone fan offering up a reason for this distance. “I suspect it was a covid thing. Aside from the first episode, which I suspect was shot during season 3 principle, I can only think of one scene that has character overlap between the Thomas/Mo/Kayce/Monica crew and the rest of the ranch.”

Beth Dutton Finds Her Name Being Brought Up By Redditor

Then, here is one fan bringing Beth into the picture, too. “So when is Beth gonna be pissed at Kaycee [sic] for not following up with Jamie and the prison visit? Or are we just gonna forget that Kaycee told Jamie to talk to the inmate in the first place…” Another one replies, “Kayce to John: ‘Jamie’s gonna talk to the inmate for us.’ John and Kayce afterward: ‘Well, that’s dealt with forever.'”

More Kayce? Yes, Yellowstone viewers are considered about his hygiene.

One writes, “Just hoping Kayce washes his hair by the season 5 premiere”. To which another one replies, “Every time he pops up, all I can think about is how badly he needs a shower some clean clothes!”

Finally, this fan puts all of this in perspective from a Redditor standpoint. “The finale might have been a little weak but this discussion board makes up for it. Cried laughing when I read this post!”

So, Yellowstone is done for Season 4. Keep your eyes peeled, Outsiders, on the Paramount Network. It might run all Season 4 episodes back again at some point.
