“Yellowstone” star Finn Little has worked with series co-creator Taylor Sheridan before. And on Saturday, he posted some behind-the-scenes pictures from the set of his recent Sheridan-helmed film, “Those Who Wish Me Dead.”
“TBT (2019) … behind the scenes on Those Who Wish Me Dead,” Little captioned the post, which includes two photos of himself at archery practice.
‘Yellowstone’ Star Is Adjusting to Seeing Himself on the Big Screen
In “Those Who Wish Me Dead,” Little played a child who’s on the run from two killers, and Angelina Jolie played the tough but haunted smoke jumper who has to lead him through a forest fire to safety.
Little has also appeared in “Storm Boy” and “Angel of Mine.” And he said that while it’s “weird” to see himself on the big screen, it’s becoming more of a usual thing for him. Meanwhile, “Yellowstone” is a television show, but it’s one with cinematic ambitions. So no doubt his work on Sheridan’s hit series will make Little even more comfortable watching himself on film.
“It’s always a bit weird, as usual, to watch myself in a movie,” Little said in a May interview at the Brisbane premiere of “Those Who Wish Me Dead.” “But I think it turned out alright. And everyone else is really great. The film has turned out amazing. So I’m really happy for that.”
While the altitude in New Mexico, where they filmed much of the movie, made some of the physical scenes tough, Finn said he enjoyed making it. And he values his friendship with co-star Jolie.
“We had a great time,” Little said. “We had lots of bonding on the weekends. I think we worked together really great. It was just sort of a natural bonding… We’re pretty good friends now, actually.”
On Sheridan’s Hit Series, Little Plays Carter
On “Yellowstone,” Little plays Carter, a hardscrabble youth who shows up on the Dutton Ranch carrying a knife and cigarettes. Carter figures he has few options in life but to learn to be a cowboy, so he winds up sticking around on the ranch somehow.
It remains to be seen what will happen to Carter on the Dutton Ranch. Fans are hoping that Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) will take the youth under their wings. After all, he’s not so different from young Rip (Kyle Red Silverstein), who appeared in the ranch’s barn one day, looking disheveled and in desperate straits.
Little’s co-stars, particularly Hauser, have praised his acting chops. They’ve also noted that, tough as Carter is, he’s still just a kid. So hopefully the ranch hands won’t demand he get branded anytime soon.
There’s one surefire way to find out what happens to Carter, and that’s to catch the new season of “Yellowstone.” Season 4 premieres Sunday, Nov. 7, exclusively on the Paramount Network. For the show’s millions of fans, it’s must-see television.
