Most everybody knows by now that each year, May 4th is otherwise known as Star Wars Day. And if you didn’t know before, you most certainly did after Yellowstone star Kevin Costner tweeted about it on Tuesday evening.

Every year on May 4th, people have a good excuse to lounge around and binge watch some Star Wars. And lucky enough, you can still binge-watch the iconic series even if you don’t lay claim to the movies. TBS has made an annual tradition of airing the movies throughout the day on the fourth. Not only that, but May 4th is just the start of a month full of Star Wars celebrations including the birthday of George Lucas on May 14.

Meanwhile, Hollywood A-lister Kevin Costner took some time out of his busy schedule to reach out to his fans. And he did so with Star Wars in mind. The main character of Yellowstone posted an incredible photoshopped image of him in one of his classic movies. In the photo, he is wielding a lightsaber.

#MayTheFourth be with you!” Costner wrote to his fans.” Who can name what movie this is really from?”

Yellowstone fans were quick to chime in with their own answers on Twitter. Many of the top responses knew the answer right away.

“‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves’ (1991). Which is still, hands down, THE BEST film adaption,” one fan enthusiastically replied. “Bonus points awarded for the extended cut. A blast, and top favorite to this day. Will never forget the cinema experience as a kid! Kevin, Alan, Morgan, Mary Elizabeth all killed it.”

“Yep, Robin Hood!” Costner confirms. “Such an honor to have worked with Alan Rickman on this one.”

‘Yellowstone’ Star Once Played As Robin Hood

Most die-hard Kevin Costner fans will remember his incredible performance as Robin Hood in 1991. But for some of his younger fans, maybe the ones who just recognize him from Yellowstone, it was a nice flashback into the actor’s past.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves originated in the 12th century and was directed by Kevin Reynolds. In addition to starring Kevin Costner as the film’s lead character, it also starred other notable big names. Some of those included Morgan Freeman, Christian Slater, Mary Elizabeth, and the man Costner mentions above in his tweet, Alan Rickman.

The Yellowstone star says that it was an honor to work on the movie with Rickman, who passed away in 2016. Rickman suffered a minor stroke in 2015 before being diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer.
