If ‘Yellowstone’ fans know one thing for certain, it’s that we’d much rather take family advice from Kevin Costner than John Dutton. Thankfully, such is the case in his latest post with HearHere.
Case and point? Look how happy Costner and his daughter, Grace, are on a 2015 family outing above. Adorable, right? The two are all smiles at Legoland California in Carlsbad, CA, and it’s adorable. HearHere’s latest post speaks to just that with the ‘Yellowstone’ star himself:
“Traveling with your whole family this spring?” the navigation company asks on their official Instagram. “Co-Founder Kevin Costner tells us why it’s important to share your next road trip with kids and turn each mile into a learning opportunity,” the caption continues – hopefully clearing up an immediate question, which is:
This is a company co-founded by Kevin Costner, not just some random navigation app, so that helps with some credibility. So what does the man himself have to say about family outings?
“The beauty of being able to photograph or video [everything] is the things you’ll never forget,” the ‘Yellowstone’ legend starts off in Friday’s video. “Number 1: Your children are never going to be as noisy as they are when they’re at a young age,” he smiles. Something tells us Grace may have been a handful at Lego Land.
“They’re also never going to be as beautiful,” he continues with a huge grin. Okay, nice save, Mr. Costner. You sweet, sweet man.

Costner also notes that children will want to “see themselves at that age. And you’re going to want to see it, too! And all the ‘whatever’ [negativity] that goes with traveling is going to wash away. That trip is going to be golden.”
“You’ve done something when you’ve traveled with your children,” he notes. “You’ve lodged a memory unlike anything that could happen over a ‘really cool weekend’ at home.
For the ‘Yellowstone’ star, traveling equals imprinting. It equals true bonding and relationship building. “When you can combine that with, sometimes, the fun of getting to know facts about a place that you wouldn’t have otherwise known, there’s something special.”
