The day that every “Yellowstone” fan has been waiting for is finally upon us with season four set to begin in just a few hours.
“Yellowstone” fans are excited to see which of their favorite characters will perish or live to see another day. There could be as many as four primary characters dead after the events of the third season finale. One character that we know for sure is still alive and kicking is Jamie Dutton. The adopted Dutton son is truly the series biggest wild card as the fourth season begins. There are so many twists and turns with the character that we are entering season four and we still aren’t sure if Jamie is a protagonist or antagonist. Hopefully, the fourth season premiere of “Yellowstone” will begin the process of revealing Jamie’s true intentions.
Wes Bentley plays Jamie Dutton to near perfection, making him one of the most nuanced characters on the show. In an interview with Channel Guide Magazine, Bentley gives “Yellowstone” fans a little tidbit on what the new season has in store Jamie. Unsurprisingly, Bentley admits that Jamie will have several scenes with his biological father, Garrett Randal, played by Will Patton. He also notes he won’t be spending much time with Jacki Weaver’s new character, Caroline Warner.
“Yeah, and I didn’t even see her,” he says of Weaver. “I’ve got a lot of time with Garrett. And so, I didn’t get to see a whole lot of people at all, but I would’ve loved to meet her. I’m so happy she’s on the show. She is a caliber of actor that we love having. I’m proud of all the cast members we brought on.”
It’s interesting, yet not surprising, that Bentley says Jamie and Garrett will spend a lot of time together.
‘Yellowstone’ Star Wants Peace For His Embattled Character
Jamie Dutton is one of the most heavily scrutinized characters on the show — a fact not lost on Wes Bentley. The “Yellowstone” star says he hopes to see Jamie find some sort of inner peace this season.
“So there’s an empathy that I can never describe, an identification, that I know that in his heart, beyond all that, there’s a better guy than what he’s been,” he says. “So I kind of want him to find some form of peace. That’s it. Even if he’s that bad guy, I still want him to find some form of peace and some love given to him. I do. I feel bad saying it, but I do.”
Despite Bentley’s wishes, it doesn’t seem like peace is in Jamie’s near future. He certainly isn’t likely to find it at the “Yellowstone” Ranch. Perhaps reconnecting with Randall, his biological father, can bring about a feeling of peace for him.
We’ll find out in just a couple of more hours. The first “Yellowstone” fourth season episode begins at 8 p.m. tonight. Get your popcorn ready!
