The Dutton Ranch sure looks beautiful in the snow! Courtesy of Finn Little’s Instagram, we now have a full, glorious shot of Chief Joseph Ranch‘s iconic white barns blanketed in snow. While it is our best look yet at the set from Season 4, it isn’t our first!
On July 2, Little posted another Yellowstone BTS shot hinting at a snow-laden landscape for the next episodes. By the looks of it, we may be in for a snowy Season 4, indeed.
“Woah! … Never a dull moment at the YELLOWSTONE! 😜🤠 Beyond THRILLED to join Taylor Sheridan’s incredible team in Season 4 (on it’s way later in 2021) It’s WORTH THE WAIT!” he captioned the photo showing a dusting of snow.
But here in his Monday shot we’re seeing far more than a dusting! Check out the shot for yourself below, before we get into a bit of insight:
Local Fans Clarify ‘Yellowstone’ Season 4’s Snow
Fans are eager for clarification on Little’s official Instagram. There, follower Josh asks “So what do they use for snow on set, or was this filmed in winter?”
While the young actor hasn’t responded himself, another follower who lives close to the real-life Yellowstone Ranch, Chief Joseph Ranch, has some insight:
“It wasn’t winter. We had an early freak snow,” offers fan Sherry. “It was gone in 1 1/2 days. It gave them a great time for scenic shoots though. I live here.”
“Nice. Reminds me of when they were filming “Dallas” in 1978,” responds Josh with a bit of trivia. “They had frwak snow. Started filming & then the snow melted. They had tons of gypsum brought in to replicate snow & it ended up being pink. Really slowed down filming. 😆
Hopefully, Yellowstone doesn’t have the same issue. With Season 4 being delayed as long as it has already, fans might truly come unglued if the wait extended into 2022!
Regardless, it looks like we’ll at least get a glimpse of snow in the show’s return come Fall 2021.
Who is Finn Little Playing Amidst the Duttons?
Just as intriguing as a snowy-laden Season 4, however, is the revelation of Finn Little’s casting. It has everything to do with a long-standing Beth Dutton theory that major trades are glossing over. But not us die-hard Outsiders!
In Deadline‘s recent Yellowstone Season 4 casting announcement, the trade cites Finn Little (Those Who Wish Me Dead), will play “Carter, a youth reminiscent of a young Rip (Cole Hauser) whom the Duttons gave a home. Here, Beth decides the ranch is the best place to teach the youth how to be a man.”
How’s that for a reveal? If it holds up, then Beth is finally getting her shot at a form of motherhood. This is something Yellowstone has shown us is integral to her past, present, and possibly her future, too – courtesy of Finn Little’s “Carter.”
Snow or no snow, we can’t wait to see where this all leads the best damn show on television come Fall 2021.
