As we head into the last of June, “Yellowstone” fans are wondering when the new season will start.

Many had this past weekend as a potential starting date for the fourth season of “Yellowstone” but it came and went without a premiere. Some fans were sure the popular show would have started by now, but that appears to have been wishful thinking. Now, as we head into summer, we continue to ponder when our beloved “Yellowstone” will return to us. The hard truth is that we simply do not know what “Yellowstone” showrunners have in mind.

This past Sunday brought us Father’s Day and it was a date that many “Yellowstone” fans had circled on their calendars. While we celebrated the men who helped bring us into the world, there was no sign of a “Yellowstone” premiere to found. All three previous seasons of “Yellowstone” have premiered on Father’s Day. This fact fueled speculation that our favorite show would return over the weekend. But it was not to be as the wait for new episodes continues without much information to go on.

Some of the show’s cast members also seemed to think June was likely the month of a “Yellowstone” premiere. In a social media post earlier this year, Brecken Merrill (Tate Dutton) says “I’ll see you in June” leading many to believe he was hinting at a June premiere date. Other cast members have also made vague statements that seem to imply an early summer beginning for the new season. Many “Yellowstone” actors are currently enjoying their free time between filming for upcoming seasons.

‘Yellowstone’ Films Additional Scenes

Speaking of filming — news broke earlier this month that “Yellowstone” may not be quite finished with season four. It was believed filming for the new season had wrapped up earlier this year but a recent casting call reveals it may still need work. The casting call, which appears on Facebook earlier this month, says a “protest” scene was filmed in Montana recently. Using social media, “Yellowstone” put out the call for actors to serve as extras in the scene. The call says the show was looking for individuals to play protestors and various law enforcement officers. The scene was to begin filming on June 10 in Montana.

While we are still in the dark regarding the new “Yellowstone” season, the level of excitement continues to rise among fans. Message board forums across the internet are littered with fans discussing and debating the show. “Yellowstone” has a robust and loyal following that seems to be growing by the day.

So, hang in there “Yellowstone” fans — the wait may be a little longer than expected but it will be totally worth it.
