‘Yellowstone’ TV: Jimmy Actor Jefferson White Hints a Close Betrayal Could Seal His Fate in Season Four

by Thad Mitchell

As any fan of the hit Paramount Network series “Yellowstone” can tell — secrets are in abundance among the Dutton family and ranch workers.

One of those many secrets is just what a trip to the “train station” means for a wayward ranch hand. There is no actual train station at the end of this trip, you see. Taking someone to the proverbial train station is code for killing them and hiding their body. Through three seasons, we have seen a couple of trips to the train station that resulted in just one death. Yellowstone ranch hand Walker was driven to the train station by Kayce Dutton, but his life is spared by Dutton. In the first season, we see senior ranch hand Lloyd drive the fired hand Fred to the station. This one, however, results in the death and disposal of Fred’s body. It is one of the most iconic scenes in three seasons of “Yellowstone.”

Lloyd calmly drives the angry Fred past the Wyoming state line and into the middle of nowhere. He pulls over to the side of the road near a high cliff and being tossing Fred’s belongings off the side. Realizing he’s been duped, Fred questions Lloyd’s actions…but it’s a little too late for that.

“This ain’t no train station,” a confused Fred says.

“Sure it is,” Lloyd replies. “It’s a long black train.”

‘Yellowstone’ Train Station Could Factor into New Season

He then proceeds to shoot Fred in the head and push him off the side of the steep cliff. He then calmly walks back to his vehicle and heads back to Yellowstone Ranch. A big reason for Fred’s demise was his contempt for Jimmy. The two ranch hands engage in a physical altercation that is broken up by Rip Wheeler, who then sides with Jimmy

Not every character on “Yellowstone” is privy to what a trip to the train station actually means. This group includes the unassuming and loyal ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrum. Despite formerly living a life of crime, Jimmy has a high moral compass. It is unlikely that he would consider killing someone for minor infractions as an acceptable action. Jefferson White, the actor that plays Jimmy, recently spoke about what Jimmy might think when he finds out. The actor appears alongside other cast members in a recent edition of “Stories from the Bunkhouse.”

“Would you continue to work on a ranch where, if you f***ed up, they killed you?” the “Yellowstone” actor asks. “I just think that Jimmy couldn’t live with the guilt of knowing that Fred was killed for beating him up.”

It remains to be seen if Jimmy discovers the truth about the train station or what he will do if he does.

With season four on the way, “Yellowstone” fans won’t have to wait long for answers.
