If there ever were a clip to prove Yellowstone is “The Godfather on a Ranch” as the LA Times proposes, then this right here is it.
“John Dutton gets what John Dutton wants,” exclaims Yellowstone‘s official Instagram Tuesday. Truer words have never been spoken about the show. Unless Jamie is involved, that is. Then things have a tendency to go south real fast.
Regardless, ol’ JD’s track record is mighty strong. Take, for example, the California biker gang that chose to cross the Yellowstone Ranch real hard. Dutton deals with the out-of-staters in Season 3, Episode 4: “Going Back to Cali”, and he does so ruthlessly.
“I don’t want you to leave,” John says as he cocks his shotgun. “I want you to dig.”
Dig what, you might ask? Why, their own graves! And instead of putting each one down for a permanent dirt nap, the patriarch settles for instilling the fear of God in them so they never return to his lands again. “Back to Cali,” indeed.
If anyone has the perfect response to Yellowstone’s own “John Dutton gets what he wants” caption for this post, though, it’s fan Molly.
“So if John Dutton wanted the season 4 premiere date we’d get it?” she replies. A+, Molly!
Relive this fantastic dialogue through Kevin Costner’s irreplaceable John Dutton with us below. Then, we’ll dive into when & where to expect the continuation of Yellowstone‘s story via the hotly anticipated Season 4.
Chills. Every time.
‘Yellowstone’ Season 4 – When & Where to Watch
The excellence of Season 3 aside, when the hell can we expect to see Season 4? Thankfully, the answer is soon. Quite soon, in fact.
Season 3’s premiere hit June 20 of 2020. Each season prior also hit in June/early summer. With this in mind, we’re fully expecting Yellowstone‘s Season 4 to hit by June’s end, July at the latest. Each trailer has hit a few weeks beforehand, so we’re keeping an eye out for a S4 teaser any day now, too.
As for where to watch Yellowstone Seasons 1-3 right now, there currently two options:
Yellowstone is available to watch exclusively with NBC’s streaming service, Peacock. Fans with a membership to this streamer have unlimited access to Seasons 1-3. So the only network currently providing access as part of a package deal is, in fact, NBC’s Peacock. This is due to NBC’s purchasing of exclusive streaming rights before the CBS/MTV/Paramount merger. As of this article, an ad-free Peacock Premium subscription will set you back $9.99 per month. Or, viewers can chalk up $99.99 for a full year.
Each season is also available to purchase by episode/season on Amazon Prime. This will set you back a whole lot more $$$, though.
When Yellowstone Season 4 hits, all signs point to it continuing on Peacock, also.
Should Fans Get a NBC Peacock Subscription before Season 4?
Before ViacomCBS’s big merger, Paramount had sold exclusive streaming rights to Seasons 1-3 of Yellowstone to NBC for their new streamer. And until that deal expires, Peacock will be the only entity including the show as part of a streaming package.
This deal is currently extending into Season 4, as well. Due to the longevity of their deal, our best guess is ViacomCBS is pulling in a massive syndication payday from NBC for rights to Yellowstone. As a result, they’re likely to continue this lucrative deal, instead of pulling the plug to gamble on more subscriptions coming into Paramount+ on “Yellowstone” alone.
