Kelly Reilly wanted to change things up and play a character “utterly different” than the one she plays on “Yellowstone.” Fans of the western drama series know the red-headed actress as the barbwire-tongued daughter of John Dutton (Kevin Costner).
However, Kelly Reilly dishes to Screen Rant on how she wanted to switch things up for one of her recent endeavors. In fact, it’s actually the character’s more dejected traits that drew her to the role in “Eight for Silver.”
“I live in America, and I’ve been working for the past few years on a show called Yellowstone, where I play a very fierce character,” Reilly says in the Screen Rant interview. “As an actor, you really want to keep changing it up for yourself and dipping into different things to keep your own taste bud alive. Playing someone so utterly different from this character that I had been so immersed in for a few years, I was just like, ‘Yes, I’m in!'”
Reilly continues to explain how her character Isabelle Laurent, is different from Beth Dutton.
“In the character, there was constraint and silence and loneliness. And I just felt like she doesn’t really use her voice; she’s not able to. I didn’t want to overcomplicate it, and it was just a completely different box of colors to play with.” Reilly says, “I love period dramas, too, so it was good to get back into that. I didn’t hesitate, I just wanted to know more about the story and how I could root myself as an actor to help tell it.”

The English Actress on Beth Dutton’s Fate
Beth Dutton’s life is hanging in the balance as”Yellowstone” season 3 comes to a close. She, along with her father and brother, is part of a coordinated attack in the season finale. Fans are doing anything they can do to find out if she and the Dutton family will live.
What’s more, various publications are also trying to get Kelly Reilly to spill the beans on the upcoming installment. According to Screen Rant, Reilly is giving anything up.
“Yeah, the end of season three is a big cliffhanger,” Reilly says.“I’m not allowed to really say too much about whether or not I’m part of season four. In fact, I’m not allowed to say anything.”
But she does confirm that the fourth season has wrapped on filming.
“What I can say is that season four has been shot, and that it’s wonderful what happens. I will say that,” she continues.
Viewers of all shapes and sizes won’t have to wait much longer. The fourth season of “Yellowstone” is coming this June.
