‘Yellowstone’ TV Nominated for Best Cable Series Drama by Hollywood Critics Association

The Hollywood Critics Association confirms today what most of us already know and that is hit series “Yellowstone” is awesome.

The organization reveals nominations for various television show awards today (Thursday) and “Yellowstone” is mention prominently. The Hollywood critics Association lists the Paramount Network series among the candidates for Best Cable Drama Series. In addition to this nomination, “Yellowstone” actress Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) is among the nominees for Best Supporting Actress in a Broadcast Network or Cable Drama Series. Both of these nominations are well-earn by the show, which will now enter its fourth season later this year. The nominations signify just how popular the modern western drama has been through three seasons.

The Hollywood Critics Association revealed the nominees in each category earlier today via their social media pages.

“Yellowstone” faces competition for the award from five other excellent cable drama series also receiving nominations. Other shows nominated include Freeform’s “Cruel Summer,” AMC’s “Gangs of London,” HBO’s “Lovecraft Country” and “Perry Mason,” along with FX’s “Pose.”

The nominations were put out earlier today and immediately television fans began chiming in with their picks. With a large and still growing fan base, “Yellowstone” is a popular choice for the HCA Award. It is the very first year for the Hollywood Critics Association awards and the winners will be known later this year. The first annual HCA Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, Aug. 22, in Los Angeles, California.

‘Yellowstone’ Up For inaugural HCA Award

The inaugural HCA TV Awards will be the first of its kind to separate broadcast and cable programming from streaming entities, according to a press release from the organization.

“We believe that honoring traditional television is crucial to maintaining the legacy of the medium,” SCA Chairman Scott Menzel. “By separating Broadcast and Cable from Streaming, we give each television platform the ability for recognition. In addition, we hope that by splitting these categories, we will be able to honor several series that would normally not be.”

The rise of “Yellowstone” to one of the most-watched shows on television has been something to behold. The series continues adding new fans as more and more people discover the ranch. “Yellowstone” creators announced just last week that the show will be returning this fall. While the wait has gone longer than most everyone expected, fans of the show are excited about its return.

“Yellowstone” has plenty of questions to answer as the fourth season comes closer. As many as four primary characters could be dead or alive heading into the new season. The show revolves around the Dutton clan, a powerful ranching family in Montana. The Duttons must fight to hold on to their ranch and preserve their way of life.
