‘Yellowstone’ TV: Which Episode Is the Paramount Show’s Best?

Season two’s 48-minute long seventh episode aired August 7, 2019, and though it’s far from the most recent episode, fans are still sure it is the series’ best.

“Resurrection Day” further builds tensions with the Beck brothers, shows Rip’s devotion to Beth, and amplifies Beth and Jamie’s hatred.

Towards the beginning of the episode, Beth scowls at Jamie and delivers some of her soul-crushing burns. She walks away from the conversation leaving him with a morbid thought by saying: “I gotta tell you something, and it comes from a place of love. You should really consider killing yourself.”

And of course, later, John finds Jamie sitting in the field holding a shotgun, shaking as he contemplates doing exactly what Beth angrily suggested.

This episode is a turning point for Kayce and Monica’s relationship, as they recommit to each other and move onto the ranch as a family. It’s also a huge moment for Beth and Rip’s relationship. The two sit under the stars and Rip opens up the Beth about his difficult past and the deaths of his family members. He nearly tells Beth he loves her but she cuts him off, telling him to wait for the right time. “Wait till it saves me,” she says.

And that he does. Later in the episode, Beth gets attacked in her office by two men sent by the notorious Beck brothers. Rip comes to Beth’s rescue (though she made it clear to the intruders that she was far from scared and could handle her own) right in time to take down the man hurting Beth. As she’s shaking and bleeding from the surreal trauma of the situation, Rip holds her close and says it when it saves her: “I love you.”

The episode ends with Malcolm Beck receiving a very clear message from the Duttons: the two men bloody and naked outside his home, with a note “Return to sender.” Yeah, that’s a lot of action and plot development in a single show… we love it.

Of course, Twitter users have given their opinion on the show’s best episode. Many fans agree season two’s seventh episode is the show’s top episode. Though many admit they love the show as a whole, giving it the title “best series” rather than focusing on the best episode.
