‘Yellowstone’ TV Spinoff ‘1883’ Premiere Date Announced

This is not a drill! We finally have a premiere date for both Yellowstone Season 4 and spinoff series 1883 exclusively for Paramount Plus!

What a damn fine day to be an Outsider! Per Paramount Network, we now know the premiere dates for Yellowstone’s return.

The hotly-anticipated historical prequel series, Yellowstone: 1883, will premiere December 19 on Paramount+! Read on for full details below.

“‘Yellowstone’ Returns November 7 With Two Eps — Watch Teaser — That Launch Nov. 14 Jeremy Renner Spinoff ‘Mayor Of Kingstown’ & Sam Elliott Prequel ‘1883’ Dec. 19 On Paramount+,” echoes Deadline Thursday.

The Full Details for ‘Yellowstone’s Triumphant Return:

Paramount Network confirms that all Yellowstone series will be exclusive to their Paramount+ streaming service. Starting this fall, Paramount network will air special simulcasts of both shows.

“Our strategy is to make Yellowstone, the massive # 1 hit with more than 10 million fans, into a global hit franchise under the incredible creative vision of Taylor Sheridan’s world-building storytelling,” says Chris McCarthy, President and CEO of MTV Entertainment in a statement for Deadline.

“These new series will debut on Paramount+ and have special premiere day sneak episodes behind Yellowstone introducing this huge audience to these new stories, allowing us to leverage our linear platforms to fuel the growth of Paramount+ which will stream each series exclusively after episode two,” McCarthy cites.

Is your blood pumping as hard as mine right now? Come November 7, Yellowstone Season 4 will hit fans on Paramount+. According to the studio, Season 4’s first two episodes will “also serve as a launchpad for 1883.”

Then, historical prequel 1883 will premiere Sunday, December 19 on the streaming service.

‘1883’ To Be ‘Beyond Our Greatest Expectations

This month,  Sam Elliott was announced as a lead for Yellowstone prequel 1883 alongside Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. The real-life married country superstars will bring the ancestors of John Dutton to life for the series.

Speaking further to studio excitement for Yellowstone’s future, 101 Studios’ CEO David Glasser adds: “We are thrilled to present these shows as part of this newly established Taylor Sheridan universe that has grown and expanded beyond our greatest expectations.”

Glasser says that Sheridan “has proven time and time again his powerful ability to tell riveting stories that are rich with passion, drama and adventure and entertain audiences everywhere. Additionally, the fall is an incredible landscape for television, bringing in the strongest viewer availability.”

For Yellowstone: 1883, McGraw and Hill will portray James and Margaret Dutton respectively. The duo will become the historical patriarch and matriarch that began everything for the Duttons out West in America.

“The Duttons are tremendous characters and it’s so thrilling to be able to bring them to life,” McGraw said in a statement as part of his casting. “As a kid growing up riding horses, you think about dream jobs like this and I am just so excited to work with this amazing cast and crew.”
