‘Yellowstone’ Star Cole Hauser Throws It Back to ‘Good Will Hunting’ Days in Ben Affleck Birthday Post

Yellowstone star Cole Hauser wished Ben Affleck a happy birthday in an epic way.

Hauser shared a black and white image from the set of Good Will Hunting back in 1997. Affleck portrayed Chuckie while Hauser portrayed Billy.

“Happy belated bday brotha @benaffleck much love! #goodwillhunting,” he captioned the image. Affleck celebrated his birthday on August 15 and is now 49.

Hauser has a famous family that has worked on some of his projects. His father is actor-filmmaker “Wings” Hauser. His mother is Cass Warner of the Warner Brothers company.

Damon and Hauser first worked together on School Ties back in 1992. Long before his Yellowstone days, he worked with Affleck on Dazed and Confused. The three actors have been friends since their younger days just starting out in acting.

Matt Damon previously told Interview Magazine that the three friends have crashed one another’s homes and apartments in between work.

“We had a place in New York, but we didn’t live there because we were both off doing movies,” he explained. “Now Ben’s living with his girlfriend in L.A. and I just finished working on a film, so I’m going to stay with a friend of mine, Cole Hauser, who’s one of the actors in Good Will Hunting.”

‘Yellowstone’ Admiration

In an interview with Hey U Guys, Hauser revealed the reason that he took the role of Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone. He believed that it was a compelling character and the cast was world-class.

“Ultimately, I don’t think about those things,” he said in regards to the show’s popularity. “When you start a show, you know, whether it’s gonna be a big show or not, I mean, you know, the character resonated to me. I knew that there were great people involved, like Taylor Sheridan, to start with, who’s become a very dear friend. And John Linson, who created the show, who I’ve known for 20 years. Then you have, you know, Kevin Costner, which helps. And then there’s this tremendous cast.”

Hauser watched all of Costner’s films growing up, long before Yellowstone. He said that Costner’s career in Hollywood has been nothing short of iconic. From heavy hitters like Dances with Wolves, JFK, and the Untouchables, it’s no secret he’s a living legend. And now he’s truly a relatable television icon.

“He’s in his own right one of the better storytellers in American cinema I think,” Hauser added. But his status and previous work isn’t the only thing great about him.

“He’s a wonderful human being,” Hauser said of Costner. “When I think of him first I think of him as just a good guy who actually cares about his craft.”
