Jen Landon Talks Playing Teeter on ‘Yellowstone’
In an August 2020 interview with Decider, Jen Landon shares details about her role on the hit series Yellowstone. “[The show] is amazing. I’m a lunchbox actor. Each job is a job fought for and a job got,” Landon explains.
Landon’s Yellowstone character, Teeter, is a ranch hand at the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, which is run by John Dutton (Kevin Costner). Speaking about Teeter’s appearance on the show, Jen describes the character as gender-defying in a lot of ways. “The pink hair was in the character description based on somebody Taylor [Sheridan] knows.”
Jen then says what wasn’t in the Yellowstone character’s description was dipping tobacco, which was inspired by her audition when she chewed gum instead of dip. “One of the things I’ve been clear about from the beginning is that the way Teeter speaks is not representative of a region or a state or anything.”
Jen also states that she and Taylor have discussed the Yellowstone character’s backstory and about how she’s from a. Family of very rural sheep farmers. “We decided that probably only her family speaks that way because they’ve spent generations on that same farm.”
In regards to Teeter’s fearless personality, Jen adds that the Yellowstone personage’s courage gives her courage.
