Of the many, many reasons to watch the hit Paramount Network series “Yellowstone” is the authentic cattle ranch culture it brings.
There are numerous factors that go into making a show like “Yellowstone” an authentic experience. We all know about creator Taylor Sheridan’s “cowboy school” he put the show’s actors through. While cast members look like naturals on top of a speeding horse, most of them have never true cowboys. There are some actors on the show, however, that have a lot of experience dwelling in the cowboy culture. Forrie J. Smith, who plays ranch hand Lloyd Pearce is the real deal, having grown up on a cattle ranch. Hassie Harrison, who plays buckle bunny, Laramie, is very comfortable on horseback and spent her youth in the cowboy culture. Ryan Bingham, who plays trouble-making Yellowstone ranch hand Walker, has a lot of experience in riding horses.
When it comes to “Yellowstone” actor though — it doesn’t get any more real than Mo Brings Plenty. His character on the show goes by the same name and is a top advisor in the Broken Rock Tribe. Away from the set, Brings Plenty is a real cattle rancher who loves his own lifestyle. He’s spoken of his love for horses on several occasions and his enjoyment of the ranching life. He often shares his ranching adventure with fans on social media. On Friday, he shares a clip of a neighborly act of kindness, returning wayward cattle to their home.
‘Yellowstone’ Star Does Good Deed for Neighbor
In the post, the “Yellowstone” star includes a video of him and his nephews sending the cattle back on the right path.
“Our neighbor’s cattle wandered onto our property this afternoon,” he says in the post. “So my nephew Jerynce and I saddled up our horses and set off to find the broken fence or open gate.”
The “Yellowstone” actor goes on to explain how he and his nephew were able to round up up the roaming cattle and safely return them.
“We got started by getting the cattle off the road and in a safe area,” he says. “Then went to figure out how they got out. It turned out to be an open gate. We moved them, nice and slowly, back toward the gate, got them through, and secured it.”
Bring Plenty ends the post with some word of wisdom for “Yellowstone” fans on being a good neighbor.
Being neighborly means being friendly, and helping out when and where needed,” he says. “If the situation were reversed our neighbors would do for us what we did for them.”
