With a new season just around the corner, stars of the hit series “Yellowstone” are sharing their excitement with fans.
Veteran actor Wes Bentley has been a part of the “Yellowstone” cast since the very beginning. Bentley plays the troubled son of John Dutton and gives Jamie Dutton a great amount of depth. Jamie is one of the most complex characters in the series with plenty of driving forces behind his decisions. Jamie’s ride through the first three seasons has been anything but smooth and that is likely to continue into season four. In the last season, Jamie discovers he was adopted by the Dutton family as an infant and never told. This adds an entirely new layer to the already complicated relationship that he and his adopted father have. The fracture between them motivates Jamie to seek out and find his biological father, Garrett Randall. How Jamie responds to Randall’s new place in his life figures to be of great importance in season four of “Yellowstone.”
In a recent interview with Channel Guide Magazine, Bentley talks about what fans can expect from Jamie in season four. He touches on how the relationship between Jamie and Randall will evolve and how will affect his character’s decision-making process.
“I think at this point in Jamie’s life, he’s sort of starting to give up on happiness as far as it comes to a sense of family,” Bentley says, “And now he’s just looking for some kind of acceptance or belonging. And Garrett’s providing that, and Garrett’s opening that door that’s not been open to him in an emotional way, or in a real core way that John Dutton never gives him.”
It sounds like Randall will have a big impact on Jamie’s future — how big of an impact is now the question.

Later in the interview, Bentley says what Jamie really seeks is a sense of belonging. He might feel that more with Randall than his adoptive father in the new “Yellowstone” season.
“John never really looks in the eye of Jamie and talks to him,” he says. “He just tells him what to do. But Garrett’s talking to him and listening to him. And this is opening up a side of Jamie, I think, that he’s understanding now. At this point, it may not be happiness I need; it’s just a sense of belonging.”
How much influence Garrett Randall wields over Jamie will be a primary component of season four. Remember that in the third season, Randall seemingly suggests that Jamie Kill John Dutton and takeover “Yellowstone.”
“The only way to take down an empire is to kill the king,” Randall tells Jamie.
We will hopefully find out exactly what those words mean when “Yellowstone” returns this weekend.
