The silence is deafening.

The wait for a new season of hit Paramount Network series “Yellowstone” continues and there is no end in sight for fans.

Frustration regarding the lack of “Yellowstone” information is also beginning to mount among the show’s enormous fan base. Many believed that the fourth season of the popular show would air over the past weekend. Each of the previous “Yellowstone” seasons premiered on Father’s Day, which was celebrated on Sunday. With many fans having the date circled on their calendars the prediction never came to fruition. Now, many fans of the modern western drama show believe it could be late summer before we get new episodes.

With the Olympics set to take center stage in a matter of weeks, some believe ‘Yellowstone” will premiere once the games wrap up. The Olympics are always a huge television draw and it might be wise to avoid head-to-head competition. The games are set to begin in late July and will run through the early portion of August. The Olympics typically save their top competition moments for Sunday evenings, which also happens to be when “Yellowstone” typically airs. Viewers would have to decide between their favorite show and potentially watching sports history being made. When putting it like that, you can see why “Yellowstone” producers are hesitant to compete with the Olympics.

‘Yellowstone’ Fans Express Frustration

Still, there is a growing sense of frustration among the “Yellowstone” fan base. Some fans have taken to social media to gripe about the lack of information regarding the new season. Others are flooding forum sites, like Reddit, to complain about the radio silence from the Paramount Network. Many are clamoring for even just shreds of information and can’t seem to understand why there has been no word.

“I think the Olympics is the excuse they will use for the delay,” a Reddit user suggests. “However, I don’t think it is the cause of the delay. It is just a nice convenient excuse they will use. It also doesn’t explain the silence. If it is because of the Olympics, why don’t they just go ahead and announce the date? Or even say Coming August 2021.”

Given the events of the third season finale, it is easy to see why “Yellowstone” fans are on edge. The third and latest season concludes with a massive cliffhanger. Viewers are left to wonder if their favorite characters are dead or alive heading into season four. Of course, learning the fate of the Dutton family is only half of the equation. The other half is figuring out who orders the attack on the Montana ranching family. There are tons of questions to answer as a new season approaches.

“Yellowstone” fans hope those answers are coming sooner than later. Hang in there guys…we are all in this together.
