January 18th marks Kevin Costner’s birthday and this legendary actor’s current endeavor is wishing him a happy birthday.

The “Yellowstone” Instagram account is sharing a photo of Costner in a cowboy hat. It’s a very dark and moody photo of the actor, who plays the Dutton family patriarch. He’s leaning on a wooden fence and also wearing one of his signature vests.

“Happy birthday to the one and only Kevin Costner! @kevincostnermodernwest#YellowstoneTV,” the caption reads.

Additionally, the same photo is shared on the account’s Instagram story. The words on the photo say, “Happy Birthday to the boss!” We agree with their choice of words. Kevin Costner is truly the one and only. Plus he’s a boss on and off the screen.

Kevin Costner Shares Thoughts on Joining ‘Yellowstone’

Before the airing of season 3, Costner talked about joining the hit Paramount series. Originally the “Field of Dreams” actor thought “Yellowstone” was going to be a limited series.

“I had a decision to make because it wasn’t how it was pitched to me, and I thought, well, I could bail on this. I had a real moment, and everybody out there has them too, where you go ‘Oh’ — you thought you were doing one thing, and now I might be staring at something else,” Costner told Deadline.

The actor goes on to say that he has his own personal reasons on why he said yes to “Yellowstone.” He even says, “There’s no difference between a movie and this for me.”

Costner might’ve worn suits, and baseball uniforms in his previous movies, but he doesn’t mind dressing like a cowboy for the contemporary western drama.

“So consequently, even when I wore Giorgio Armani in The Untouchables, I never felt like I looked good in suits. I felt like they got me in trouble, and you know, it just goes to show the things you carry forward in your life. You know, my wife is going, now, ‘You look fine’, and I go, ‘No, I don’t’. These other guys look good in suits, I don’t,”  Kevin Costner says. “There’s something about being out in nature, being on a horse, looking at the country in a moment when it was almost a Garden of Eden when there was nothing there, and that’s what we have in Yellowstone.”
