Wes Bentley, who plays our favorite backstabber Jamie Dutton, just received a Happy Birthday message from “Yellowstone” via Twitter.

The show’s official social media account tweeted a photo of Bentley looking serious and dapper in his dark blue suit. But we all know appearances can be deceiving.

“Happy Birthday, Wes Bentley! We’re celebrating with the Workin’ the Yellowstone Labor Day Marathon. Season 1 starts TODAY at 12pm ET, only on @ParamountNet. #YellowstoneTV,” the show’s message read.

What better gift could we ask for? “Yellowstone” fans already got a great gift this week in the form of the official trailer for Season 4 of the Paramount Network show. Now, we get to rewatch the first three seasons back-to-back-to-back.

Fans replied to the “Yellowstone” tweet with well wishes and “Happy Birthday” messages for Bentley. But some fans also addressed what they think his character Jamie is up to in Season 4.

“Happy birthday Wes!” fan Betsey Duggins wrote. “Thanks for the marathon. Wondering if Wes is the true villain. Come on Season 4!”

“Wishing Happy birthday to Wes Bentley!!” Susan-Ann Summers said. “So ready to see how it’s all going to go down in the season. You play your role so good.”

What Does Season 4 Have in Store For Wes Bentley’s “Yellowstone” Character Jamie Dutton?

The “Yellowstone” Season 4 trailer contained a lot of information to unpack. But most of the content actually revolved around Bentley’s character Jamie Dutton.

Jamie’s the adopted son of John Dutton (Kevin Costner). We know the two don’t always get along, but has their relationship gone so sideways that Jamie would order a hit on John? And on his siblings, Beth and Kayce? We know Jamie’s capable of a lot of wrongs, but there’s no coming back from that kind of downward spiral.

In case you haven’t watched it yet, you can see the trailer in the video below. Fair warning, because the rest of this article talks about key shots and dialogue from the trailer.

Our first look at Jamie is a close-up of his face, which is partially shadowed. He’s got this dead look in his eyes as he says, “Oh my god.”

From that reaction alone, it’s hard to believe he’d be capable of killing the only family he’s ever known. If he was responsible, he wouldn’t seem so shaken up and disbelieving.

He still seems shaken in his next clip, where he’s holding a gun unsteadily and asking, “What about right or wrong?”

We’re pretty sure Jamie’s having a conversation with his biological father, Garrett Randall. Randall has a voiceover right before Jamie’s clip, where he says, “Fair… Moral… Those are words men invented to scare and shame other men from taking back what they’ve stolen.”

In response to Jamie’s question about right and wrong, Randall just says, “There is no such thing.”

At least we know Jamie’s still contemplating what’s right and what’s wrong. We’ll have to see if he agrees with his father when “Yellowstone” Season 4 drops on Nov. 7.
