If you want to know how Kevin Costner feels about Cole Hauser, then look no further than Costner’s reaction to his mention in People’s magazine’s 2020 “Sexiest Man Alive” list.

Hauser tells Fox News that he was checking up on his co-star’s social media posts and found out Costner’s response to his inclusion on the list.

“I just looked on his [Costner’s] social media, this is just a little while ago, and it goes, ‘Cole Hauser, Sexiest Man Alive – and then he goes, ‘You son of a b—h,’” Hauser explains in his interview, laughing, Fox News states.

“So you know, that was Kevin’s way of – I mean, we’re great friends. We’ve worked together now four years and I love him,” Hauser continues. “He’s a wonderful person – more importantly – a person than an actor. I just enjoy being around him and enjoying each other’s company. So he’s been somebody I’ve always looked up to creatively. And that’s been an honor working with him.”

Cole Hauser and Kevin Costner On-Screen Relationship

The pair’s relationship on the hit TV show, “Yellowstone,” is dynamic. In a way, Hauser’s character, Rip Wheeler, is the son that Costner (John Dutton) never had. Yes, Dutton has three sons of his own, but Rip is his right-hand man and shows him fierce loyalty.

“You know why people don’t come talk to you? Because they’re scared they’ll let you down. I know I am,” Rip tells John when they’re talking about one particularly difficult storyline from the award-winning show.

Dutton doesn’t have to explain his actions to Wheeler when it comes to taking care of the 520,000-acre ranch. Wheeler is understanding when the patriarch is making sacrifices to preserve his legacy. Wheeler follows in Dutton’s footsteps without being forced to, unlike Dutton’s other sons.

We’ll leave you with this last quote from season three. Beth (Kelly Reilly) has already asked for her father’s permission to marry Rip because she knew that Rip respects John too much. This is the first opportunity that John’s had to address the situation.

He says, “Well, if you’re marrying Beth, you’ve already proved you’re not scared of anything.” Perhaps this sums up the relationship between the soon-to-be father and son-in-law.
