Yellowstone star Ryan Bingham is also an accomplished, Oscar-winning musician, so he is clearly a creative type. And he says being on Taylor Sheridan’s hit Paramount Network series has really fired his imagination.
In a recent episode of the official Yellowstone podcast, Bingham talked about the immersive environment of Yellowstone. He said the show has inspired him as a musician to churn out more work.
“Even from the very beginning, when I first started writing songs, like I would close my eyes and I could visualize something,” Bingham said. “And writing a song was really like kind of just describing what I was seeing in my mind, you know? And so to have a TV show, where like I have the visuals in front of me, and I can see it… It kind of makes my mind go crazy with ideas and things to write about. And not even to speak of like the emotional part of it, as well. So it’s pretty interesting.”

Where Is Bingham’s Yellowstone Character Headed?
Bingham’s Yellowstone character, Walker, has had a tumultuous stay at the Dutton Ranch. Recruited by Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) to become a ranch hand there after his release from prison, Walker quickly got on Rip’s bad side. Between his high-handed refusals to participate in work and his flirtations with Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), Rip’s on-again, off-again lover and soon-to-be fiancée, Walker really made Rip want to kill him.
Walker quickly soured on the ranch and tried to leave, only to be coaxed back by John Dutton (Kevin Costner). John then made some management changes that Rip was none too happy about. Still, Rip eventually wound up trying to take Walker to the “train station,” Dutton Ranch parlance for offing him. Walker was only saved at the last minute by Kayce (Luke Grimes), who volunteered to take him instead. Kayce couldn’t bring himself to murder Walker, though, and so he let him go on the condition that he flee the state.
Walker had his parole officer to think about, however, and so it wasn’t long before Rip and Lloyd (Forrie J. Smith) stumbled across the ex-con singing at a bar in town. Incredulous, they jumped him and dragged him back to the ranch to show to Kayce. Kayce offered him a deal: come back to the ranch, and be all in this time, or they’d have to kill him.
It is on those terms that Walker remains at the ranch in Season 4, but his fights with Lloyd have left him ill at ease there. Will Walker stay at the Dutton Ranch much longer, or will he, like Jimmy (Jefferson White), be sent elsewhere?
Bingham Has Reportedly Signed on to Join 6666
It looks like Walker finds his way to the Four Sixes Ranch somehow, because Bingham has reportedly signed on to join the cast of 6666, a Yellowstone spinoff set at a legendary ranch in Texas.
How Walker finds his way there remains to be seen. We already know from what Walker told Jimmy that Walker has been to that ranch before, and that leaving it is the biggest regret of his life. But what could possibly persuade Rip and Kayce to let Walker go now, given all that he knows about the Dutton Ranch?
Perhaps the Season 4 finale will offer some hints. Tune in to the Paramount Network Sunday at 8 p.m. ET to see what happens.
