After a long wait, fans of “Walker” on The CW were finally reunited with the cast of the popular reboot of the 1990s series, “Walker, Texas Ranger,” this week.

In this installment of the franchise, actor Jared Padalecki of “Supernatural” fame plays the title character, Cordell Walker. As fans are aware, this reboot series begins with Walker returning home after he had been working undercover.

The first episode of the show’s second season debuted on Thursday, Oct. 28. And, according to TV Line, the season two premiere included some “blasts from the past.”

The first episode of this new season started with a time jump. The jump forward was three months from the last time fans saw the characters at the end of season one.

One focus of the season two premiere episode was, unsurprisingly, the Walker family. The episode shows them doing what they can to make a new start in life. However, when the Davidsons arrive at the adjacent property, the past comes racing back.

Walker and Denise Davidson (Amara Zaragoza) have a history that goes back to their teenage years. At the time they found their way into a barn when they shouldn’t have. The burn caught on fire.

Ill Feelings Between Families on Display in Premiere ‘Walker’ Episode

The ill feelings between the two families have another source. Abeline (Molly Hagan), who is Walker’s mother, was once engaged to Marv Davidson. However, she decided that she wanted Bonham Walker (Mitch Pileggi) more. She ended her engagement with Marv. Abeline and Bonham married and they had Cordell and Liam (Keegan Allen) together.

It turns out that Denise returned to town for her work. She is now a district attorney. Joining Denise in town are her husband, Dan Miller (Dave Annable), son, Colton (Jalen Thomas Brooks), and mother, Gale (Paula Marshall).

One person who is taking the news of Denise’s return particularly hard is Liam. He works as an assistant district attorney in Austin. Liam decides to have a few drinks too many. While he is at the Side Step, Denise and Dan arrive. Dan challenges Liam by saying, “You lost to a guy who was on trial for murder?”

This, of course, does not sit well with this member of the Walker family. Things get worse when Dan claims that Marv perished in the barn fire because he tried to bring Walker to safety. Liam hits Dan and questions his parents about the events surrounding the fire. But their responses don’t really satisfy him.

The season two premiere of “Walker” also focused on Micki (Lindsey Morgan) and her undercover work. As fans know, Micki is Walker’s partner in the Texas Rangers. Micki is doing what she can to get crime boss Serrano to trust her. To do this, she is working with his subordinate, Spider, who later dies.

The episode also includes a “peace summit,” which Walker does not attend. He goes to offer aid to Micki. She, however, decides to hit him in order to maintain her undercover identity. She later has the chance to meet Serrano. Micki later encounters an individual she describes as “the one that got away.”
