Aired on “The Talk,” Amanda Kloot, wife of Nick Cordero, spoke with “Blue Bloods” actor Donnie Wahlberg on her late husband. Nick passed away in July 2020 after spending months in a hospital fighting the coronavirus.
The video clip posted on the talk show’s Instagram account captures heartfelt moments. Kloot begins by sharing how happy it’s to meet Donnie, who sat next to his wife Jenny McCarthy.
Emotions start flowing once Kloot sheds tears while thanking the “Blue Bloods” star for reaching out during their troubled time. She goes on to tell Donnie how much her husband raved about working with him on set. Donnie then reminisces when he and Nick worked on a few episodes.
“I was really blessed to work with Nick,” he said in the video. “He was so fun, so outgoing, and just larger than life.”
He then explains how he immediately reached out to Kloot on Instagram soon after she announced his death. Donnie continues to admire Kloot for staying so positive throughout the unfortunate experience and understands why she was the love of Nick’s life.
“I can see why you were the love of his life,” Donnie shared. “You were in the most trying of times a ray of light and positivity. We try to live that way. And to watch you during such a difficult time be such an example of positive energy.”
He describes how influential Nick was when he guest-starred in “Blue Bloods”. Also, what it was like to work with such a talented actor.
“I’m blessed to have known your husband and to have worked with him,” Donnie recalls. “It’s a special thing when you get to work with someone who is so fun, so talented, and so gifted. Our short time together meant so much to me.”
Donnie finishes the tribute to his former co-worker and friend by saying how Nick’s contribution to their show made a difference in their lives.
“He was part of the family. In that short time he made such an impact on us. He was a huge part of the “Blue Bloods” family.”
