When the Dallas Cowboys were in the midst of pulling out a huge win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon, Jerry Jones could not contain his excitement. Video of the Cowboys owner celebrating the team’s victory quickly went viral on social media.
While sitting in one of the box seats to watch the team’s home opener, Jerry Jones sported a white mask and suit. With 1:49 to go in the game, Dallas recovered an improbable onside kick. Jones was visibly fired up at the time. The cameras panned to him during the celebration and his reaction caught the eye of many on Twitter.
After recovering the onside kick, the Cowboys drove the ball down field. As times expired, kicker Greg Zuerlein nailed a 46-yard field goal.
The Cowboys managed to overcome four fumbles and a 20-point deficit in the first quarter to beat the Falcons 40-39. In the fourth quarter, the Falcons still held a 15 point lead. However, Dak Prescott setting a new NFL record passing for more than 400 yards and rushing for three touchdowns in the same game helped lead the team to victory.

Jerry Jones Allows Fans at the Cowboys Game
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, a number of NFL teams are not allowing fans at the stadium at this time. For the Cowboys home opener, Jones let 21,708 fans into the stadium. Last year, the Cowboys averaged 90,929 fans at home games, Dallas News reports.
This past Friday, Jones spoke out about bringing fans back to the games during an interview with 105.3 The Fan. “I love our plan for safety for the stadium. The stadium has an enormous amount of space in it, three million square feet of air-conditioned space; great airflow, great current, air current,” Jones said. “Didn’t know that we would be giving it this kind of emphasis ever when the stadium was built. But we’re going to have a very safe plan of entry.”
