While Kelly Clarkson spends a lot of time teaching others how to perform on The Voice, she always has time for some Kellyoke. That is pronounced as a combination of Kelly and karaoke. She often performs on her show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. Fans were treated to quite a cover recently.
Clarkson stepped up on stage and gave a wonderful rendition of the Depeche Mode classic, Enjoy the Silence. Time and time again, she proves that she is capable of singing anything. It doesn’t matter what it is, if there are vocals over a beat or instruments, she is going to kill it.
Kelly Clarkson and her band, Y’all, are so adaptive. Fans in the comments section raved about the performance and for good reason. While it doesn’t sound like classic Clarkson, it sounds new and different. The song was of course a massive hit for Depeche Mode back in 1989. From the British electronic music scene to Kellyoke, who could have seen it coming?
In the past, Clarkson has covered a multitude of songs on her show. From Adele and Amy Winehouse to Olivia Newton-John and Janet Jackson. Seriously, she has put on so many great performances on her show. I’m just excited to see what is next for the country music star and The Voice host.
New Season of ‘The Voice’ Kelly Clarkson and Judges Hear Auditions
Speaking of The Voice, the show is in a brand new season and the talent is high. There have been a lot of great performances and the addition of Ariana Grande has fans very excited. The show has featured a lot of great artists over the years. So far this season, there has been a father-son duo, a 15-year-old wonder, and so much more.
One of the big stars recently was Carson Peters. Peters is a bluegrass-influenced teenager from Tennessee. He put on quite a show for the judges. His twang and charisma caught the judges by surprise. When they turned around to see the performer, they were blown away. If you look at other videos online of Peters, he has the skills on the fiddle.
There have been other country acts, of course. One father-son duo made two judges fight over them for a bit. Both Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande turned around for Jim and Sasha Allen. Their cover of John Denver’s song Leaving on a Jet Plane impressed everyone. The harmony was very reminiscent of “blood harmony” family groups in the past.
Blake Shelton landed a 15-year-old wonder after Kelly Clarkson and the other judges failed to turn around. Hailey Green came out and performed a crazy version of Home by Michael Broussard. The maturity and soul in her voice are super impressive. When the judges turned around and saw how young the singer was, they couldn’t believe it. Blake landed the talented artist for his team and will be very happy about that.
