Pat isn’t the only Sajak on the set of Wheel of Fortune these days. His only daughter Maggie Sajak has now joined the team.
Pat Sajak Welcomes His Daughter to the Show
The 26-year-old blonde beauty is no stranger to the Wheel of Fortune family. She basically grew up on the show since her father, Pat Sajak, has hosted the Wheel of Fortune for nearly 40 years.
At just one year old, she clumsily trotted onto the set of the show with her older brother and again in Pat Sajak’s loving arms. Basically, Wheel of Fortune fans have watched her grow up.
And now, as an adult, the show has officially employed her as one of their own. While she isn’t going to be the face of the show like her father, she will be running the social media accounts behind the scenes.
The Wheel of Fortune website welcomed their new hire highlighting her bio.
Maggie graduated from Princeton University, finished a postgraduate program at Columbia University, and is currently attending law school.
About her new role as Wheel’s online media correspondent, Maggie says, “I’m excited about the opportunity to bring an insider’s look at the show with new behind-the-scenes features, interviews, videos, and insights. The Wheel of Fortune staff and crew have always been like an extended family, and I’m thrilled to be working with them.”
Pat Sajak’s daughter took over the Wheel of Fortune Instagram live on April 6th for a behind-the-scenes look at College Week, where she spoke to the excited contestants.
The website also highlights clips of each time Maggie was on the show.
Maggie Sajak Takes the Stage
Furthermore, in early November of 2019, Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak had to undergo emergency intestinal surgery to remove a blockage. For the week he was gone, Maggie filled in for Vanna White, turning the letters, while White replaced Pat Sajak’s place hosting the show.
“In nearly 40 years, I’ve never missed a taping, so it was very strange,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “It felt really bizarre to know that that stuff was going on without me. And going on well without me. That really was troubling,” he added, joking.
In addition, Sajak Sajak applauded his longtime partner’s performance. He said that despite her nerves, she “was a team player.”
“What a trooper,” said now 74-year-old Pat Sajak. “And I’m not being condescending in any way ’cause it would’ve been well within her rights to say, ‘Wait a minute, this is not what you’re paying me for, and this is not what I do and I’d rather not.’ But she’s a team player. And she was very nervous and not comfortable. She did a great job.”
