Even “Wheel of Fortune” loves a good underdog story too.
On yesterday’s episode of the show, a contestant named Erin had quite the miraculous comeback. While the two other contestants had earned some money so far, Erin had been unlucky up until then with no money to show for.
However, the final round of the game is when she swooped in for the “Wheel of Fortune” kill.
Erin was attempting to solve the puzzle “License to Chill.” She first correctly got the letter S and earned $6,000. She then guessed three L’s and suddenly her total was at $24,000. It was a massive jump from nothing.
She actually ended up being the winner of the show with $26,000, but her success on “Wheel of Fortune” didn’t even end there. During the bonus round Erin had picked all but one of the letters in the puzzle “Bun Warmer.” She easily walked away with another $38,000 from that round making her grand prize $64,000. It was a legendary comeback that left even Pat Sajak stunned.
He excitedly said, “She had nothing, nothing. Now she’s got $26,000.”
More ‘Wheel of Fortune’ In The Future
Luckily, there are even more opportunities for lucky “Wheel of Fortune” contestants to earn amazing cash prizes and trips while solving puzzles.
After over 30 seasons on TV, “Wheel of Fortune” isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Both Pat Sajak and Vanna White still seem content in their roles as well. The iconic game show duo has said that they would leave the show together.
According to Deadline, “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” has been renewed for a second season as well. This version of the show brings high-profile celebrities to the studio stage in order to compete for charities.
It brings a whole new level of energy, excitement, and entertainment to the popular game show structure. The program was No. 1 when it was on Thursdays at 8 p.m. during its nine-week run earlier this year.
Mike Richards is the executive producer of the show. He is also the executive producer of “Jeopardy!” He’s had three Daytime Emmy Awards during his career and has also received 17 nominations. The other popular ABC game show, “Supermarket Sweep,” is also adding more shows in the future. It is hosted and produced by Leslie Jones from “Saturday Night Live.”
Whether it’s giving people massive amounts of cash or watching celebrities earn money for charity, there’s a lot more in store for “Wheel of Fortune.”
