The news that “Jeopardy!” has finally selected its permanent hosts has made major news on Wednesday, Aug. 11. And, the news caught the attention of another very famous television game show.

That other game show, of course, is “Wheel of Fortune.” And, the series used its official Twitter account to share well-wishes with the newly-announced hosts of “Jeopardy!” Those hosts, of course, are Mike Richards and Mayim Bialik.

“Congrats to Mayim Bialik and Mike Richards! Wheel wishes Jeopardy! continued success…and good fortune,” the tweet shared by “Wheel of Fortune” on Wednesday, Aug. 11 said. Check it out below.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that “Wheel of Fortune” would be excited to learn that Mike Richards and Mayim Bialik have been given the coveted hosting reigns of “Jeopardy!” Richards has worked as an executive producer on the “Wheel of Fortune” game show for years. He has also held the same role on “Jeopardy!”

Richards showcased his skills as the host of “Jeopardy!” earlier this year. As did, Bialik. Both of them served as celebrity guest hosts of the famous quiz show following the death of its legendary host Alex Trebek in November 2020. Trebek passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 80.

Mike Richards Said Becoming the Host of ‘Jeopardy!’ Was Not Part of His ‘Wildest Dreams’

According to recent reports, Mike Richards will serve as the host of the syndicated episodes of “Jeopardy!” moving forward. Bialik will host special events of the show, as well as a spinoff. The first episode of the quiz show with Richards at the helm is slated to air on Sept. 13.

Unsurprisingly, Richards is very excited to take a hosting role on “Jeopardy!”

“I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to host the syndicated version of ‘Jeopardy!’ Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined being chosen to step into a role of this magnitude,” Mike Richards said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Wisley, Richards also vowed to make sure that fans of the quiz show still enjoy “Jeopardy!” during his tenure as the host of its syndicated episodes.

“I am incredibly humbled to step behind the lectern and will work tirelessly to make sure our brilliant contestants shine in each and every episode,” Mike Richards also recently shared.

How Mike Richards plans to host the show – and treat its contestants – has been informed by the late Alex Trebek. Wisely, Richards took advantage of the opportunity to learn from how Trebek hosted the show.

“Alex believed the game itself and the contestants are the most important aspects of the show. I was fortunate to witness his professionalism, intensity and kindness up close and that will serve as the ultimate blueprint as we continue to produce the show we love,” Mike Richards also said.
