“Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak is feeling the love tonight. The long-running game show host cracks a joke about being a “newlywed.”
The game show shared the short clip on its Twitter page. Sajak asked what the definition of a newlywed was and when does a couple stop being newlyweds. He debated the philosophical question with Vanna White, who said about a year as the cutting-off point. But Sajak said he still felt like a newlywed despite being with his wife for decades.
“I’ve been married for 31 years and I still feel like a newlywed,” Sajak said drawing awws from the crowd. But the game show host closed the heartwarming moment with his trademark humor. “It’s going to be a big night at the Sajaks. We’ll see you next time.”
Sajak met his wife Lesly Brown back in 1988. The couple met through a mutual friend of theirs and tied the knot just a year later. The two have been together all these years later and appear to be very much in love. Sajak and Brown share two children together Maggie Sajak and Patrick Michael James Sajak.
Over the years, Brown has made infrequent appearances on “Wheel of Fortune” supporting her husband. One of her latest appearances came during the show’s 7,000th episode back in 2019. Brown appeared alongside her husband during the episode’s closing segment.
Pat Sajak Partnership with Vanna White
Of course, the other lady in Sajak’s life is his professional partner Vanna White. The two have been one of the game show’s most dynamic duos since White joined in 1982. Through their decades-long partnership, Sajak and White have become good friends even when the cameras aren’t rolling. In fact, they’ve rarely ever had an argument. According to White, she can remember just one time.
“We’ve been together all these years. We’ve never had one argument — OK, we had one,” White told The Drew Barrymore Show.
“It was over putting ketchup on a hot dog,” White said. She asked Barrymore, “’Do you put ketchup on your hot dog?’ OK, all right. Well, anyway, that’s what he said. ‘You do not put ketchup on your hot dog!’”
So perhaps, Sajak and White shouldn’t eat lunch together. But otherwise, the two have gotten along well through the years. The duo continues to entertain audiences every day on “Wheel of Fortune” with their usual brand of humor and antics. Sajak has become one of gameshow’s longest-running hosts and a staple on television.
