We all know dad jokes well. Sometimes they’re slightly funny, but mostly you end up laughing at your father for their jokes, instead of laughing with them. You know the ones we are talking about. Your dad tells you a joke they think is hilarious. However, the punchline comes and you say with a straight face, “Is that it?” An eye roll later and the dad joke has completed its cycle.
Earlier today, Wheel of Fortune‘s Twitter account graced fans with a couple of dad joke gems via host Pat Sajak himself. With the assist of his daughter Maggie, Sajak came in hot with the first dad joke of the clip.
“This just in. A bus carrying prisoners back to the penitentiary has collided with a cement truck. The public has been warned to look out for hardened criminals,” Sajak said as crickets chirped in the background.
But wait, there’s more…
“So this guy walks into a library and says, ‘I’d like to order a hamburger.’ The librarian said, ‘Sir, this is a library.’ And he said, ‘Oh, I’m sorry. I’d like to order a hamburger,'” Sajak whispered.
Yea, we’re with you. The second dad joke is even worse than the first one. But as always, it was a good try, dad. Or in this case, Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak.
‘Wheel of Fortune’ Host Explains Why Father’s Day is a ‘Raw Deal’
During the same Wheel of Fortune clip, host Pat Sajak and his daughter also shared some of their favorite Father’s Day memories together. Additionally, Sajak shared a complaint on the behalf of all dads saying they get a “raw deal” on the holiday.
All week long it’s Father’s Day Week on Wheel of Fortune. In fact, each player on the legendary game show is a father himself this week. Sajak and his daughter spoke about the special week honoring all the fathers out there.
“We have all contestants who are fathers, but today I’m gonna talk to my personal favorite father. Hey, dad,” Maggie joked in the clip.
“Thank you, very much,” Sajak said to his daughter. “I was a little worried I was gonna be like your second favorite.”
The Wheel of Fortune host then admitted that he’s not used to having all males in the studio. Yet he’s excited for what they have in store during the week-long event dedicated to Father’s Day, which is actually next weekend on June 20. As the pair admit though, Father’s Day isn’t exactly the same as Mother’s Day.
“Fathers get a raw deal where that’s concerned,” Sajak said to his laughing daughter. “I mean, mothers get roses, they get breakfast in bed, I don’t even get a petunia and a waffle.”
“I had no idea you wanted a petunia, I’m sorry,” Maggie amusingly replies.
