“Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak takes a moment during the show’s most recent episode to wish his wife Lesly a very happy birthday. And in usual Sajak fashion, he throws some humor in the mix as well. He also makes a hilarious confession.
Sajak reveals he wished Lesly a happy birthday on the air so he doesn’t have to buy her a birthday present later. The birthday greeting is his present to his wife. But the host joked that his wife caught onto his ruse and demanded something extra. So this year, he’s also sending a kiss her way.
“For the past many years, I have wished a happy birthday to my wife, Lesly Sajak,” Sajak says during the episode. “And to our good friend Judy Friedman. They have birthdays on the same day. I do it for Lesly because I love her. And because then I don’t have to buy a gift. However, she’s caught onto this now. And she wants more than just a greeting. So here’s my greeting and I’ll throw in a kiss.”
Of course, Sajak is only joking in his trademark blend of sarcasm. Poking fun at his marriage life feels second nature and on-point for the “Wheel of Fortune” host. If Sajak was being serious, safe to say he might find himself in the dog house for that one – kiss or no kiss.
‘Wheel of Fortune’ Host Pat Sajak and His Wife Lesly
Of course, Lesly Sajak is probably quite used to her husband’s humor. The couple has celebrated decades of marriage together. And Pat Sajak once confessed that he still feels like a newlywed when he sees his wife, even now.
Sajak and Lesly Brown first crossed paths all the way back in 1988. A mutual friend introduced the two, and sparks flew between them. It didn’t take long for them to walk down the aisle. Sajak and Lesly ended up marrying only a year later. And the couple has been happy together ever since then. Sajak and Lesley have two kids, Maggie and Patrick.
Over the years, Lesly has been supportive of her husband’s game show career. While she’s not regularly turning up on “Wheel of Fortune,” she has made appearances on the show throughout its historic rune. For instance, audience could see her during the closing segment of its 7,000th episode. That was back in 2019, and it was a crowning achievement for the game show. As long as Sajak is on “Wheel of Fortune,” he’ll probably continue to wish his wife a birthday every year.
