She has two children, Gigi Santo Pietro and Nico Santo Pietro, both in their 20s.
Vanna White started her run on “Wheel of Fortune” in 1982. While some may think Vanna White puts on an act when shooting “Wheel of Fortune” shThat gig skyrocketed her to fame. She’s since received a star on the Hollywood walk of Fame.
Vanna White’s Warning for Fame-Seekers
While Vanna White occasionally posts on Instagram, she likes to keep things private. In a 2018 interview with Believer magazine, White admitted that fame has its serious downfalls. It wasn’t the first time she had spoken up about the perils of fame, either. She’s been in this spotlight for four decades, after all.
“You lose a tremendous amount of privacy. Everybody wants to be in your world, and they think that for some reason your world is different from their world. And it’s not. We all do the same thing. We all put our pants on the same way.”
Celebrities like Vanna often struggle with invasive questions, “superfans” that are a little too obsessed and isolated. “If you go out,” Vanna continued, “Say, just looking absolutely horrible, somebody might take a picture of you and put it on social media or in some magazine and make up some story. Those things I do not like.”
Sometimes, fame can be invasive during your most painful and private moments. In 1986, Vanna White’s fianceé, John Gibson, passed away in a plane crash. White had to call out tabloids for exploiting her fiancée’s death. The ruthless nature of tabloid journalism and paparazzi continues to this day.
While there are certain perks that come with fame, there’s no doubt a lot of pressure. Luckily, with Instagram, White gets to control the narrative more, and therefore post cute videos of massive possums.
