‘Wheel of Fortune’: Vanna White Revealed What She Likes to Wear When Not in Dresses for Show

by Keeli Parkey

One thing most fans picture when they think about Vanna White is the beautiful clothes she wears on “Wheel of Fortune.” The dresses are glamorous and fancy and worthy of jealousy.

However, when she is not hosting the popular game show alongside Pat Sajak, White enjoys wearing very different attire. White talked about her wardrobe away from the show during an interview with “Monday Memories.”

During her decade-long tenure on “Wheel of Fortune,” Vanna White believes she has worn approximately 5,000 different dresses. Imagine the closet space you would need if you kept all of those clothes! But if you had the space, that’s a collection of clothes you definitely would want to keep!

Getting to dress up so often has been a joy for White.

“For 30 years I’ve felt like I’ve been a Barbie doll,” she explained. “You know, they dress me up and send me out there.”

However, celebrities have lives away from the show or film that made them famous. This was true for Vanna White. And as part of her life away from “Wheel of Fortune,” White enjoyed wearing more, let’s say, casual and comfortable attire.

“In downtime, when I’m not filming, I like being in blue jeans and sweats,” White said.

Vanna White Also Described What Dresses She Prefers to Wear While Filming Episodes of ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Having worn thousands of dresses during her very long tenure on “Wheel of Fortune,” Vanna White has developed a preference for certain styles. So, which dresses does she prefer? Unsurprisingly, her preference leans toward the outfit’s comfort level.

“The ones that stand out are the comfortable ones – the loose fitting, that stretch,” White said. “You know, the ones that are really tight and constricted, I don’t particularly like. Because it’s just hard. You’re thinking about it the whole time. You’re like trying to hold in your stomach and, yo know, reach up for the letters and you’re just uncomfortable.”

Vanna White has also been surprised that “Wheel of Fortune” has remained on the air for so very long.

“I remember when I first started the show,” she said. “I was sitting in the makeup chair next to Pat Sajak and I said, ‘I wonder where we’ll be in 10 years.’ That was 30 years ago.”

Flash forward to 2021, and the famous game continues to be very popular with its television audience.
