‘Yellowstone’ Star Kevin Costner Sends Message to Fans, Touches on ‘For Love of the Game’

Kevin Costner, the star of ‘Yellowstone’ and For Love of the Game, shares a photo and thoughtful messages for fans.

The account for Kevin Costner and the Modern West, Costner’s country-rock band, posted to Twitter a few hours ago sharing a photo of Costner in a Detroit Tiger baseball uniform from the 1999 movie, For Love of the Game. He also says how thankful he is for all of the messages he has been receiving from fans.

“Have loved getting your messages. For Love of the Game seems to be a big favorite for a lot of you! I can’t blame you—it’s one of my favorites too. #TBT. Send a message with your favorite of my films or shows—I’d love to know! +1 310-564-0506.”

‘Yellowstone’ to Baseball, Kevin Costner Does it All

Costner is no amateur when it comes to the big screen. His acting career started in 1981 with the movie Sizzle Beach, USA. However, he wasn’t really on the map until 1987 with his role in The Untouchables, where he played Eliot Ness. The 65-year-old star has been in at least 66 films, and since 2018, he has played the rugged ‘Yellowstone’ patriarch, John Dutton

In addition, many of Costner’s movies have had to do with baseball, including Chasing Dreams, Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, For Love of the Game, and The Upside of Anger. In college, Costner tried out for the baseball team as a walk-on; however, he did not make the team.

The movie from his recent tweet, For Love of the Game, focuses on an older man following his dreams of becoming a professional baseball player. The film follows the perfect game Costner throws at Yankee Stadium as a Detroit Tiger. The star received a nomination for the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor for his performance, and the movie was a box-office disappointment.

Blasphemy for them to nominate our beloved cowboy for such an award.
